Snail Trail AMA #1 — Project Overview with MOREJPEGS (Marketing & Comms) & Firestorm (Recap)

In this AMA, we will be joined by MetaDerby founder, MetaMike. We’ll be covering the project at a high level. The focus of this AMA will be the business development, vision, road map, and post-IDO plans.

    Dave| Avalaunch

Welcome everyone once more to Avalaunch AMA for Snail Trail and today we have an honored guest who has been here before — the irreverent @FireStorlvl and from Snail Trail, we have @moreJPEGS here to make some additional magic.

    More JPEGS| SnailTrail

    Good thanks for having us!

    Dave| Avalaunch

thanks for being here. Let’s get right into it — Please introduce yourself, who you are, what your role is and how your previous experience enabled you to be where you are today?

    More JPEGS| SnailTrail

Hey everyone, I’m MoreJPEGs and I am leading Marketing for Snail Trail!

I’ve been in the Avalanche ecosystem since August last year minting Avax Apes, using Trader Joe early on, and exploring the space ever since. However, my background is rooted in the Financial Services Industry.

I was a Digital Strategist at a marketing firm who raised capital for wealth and asset managers. I had a burning passion for DeFi and NFTs so I decided to stop mining fiat and become a full-time Avalanche enjoyer.

That’s how I found this amazing project and joined the team!

    FireStorm| SnailTrail

Hey all! I’m FireStorm, one of the advisors to Snail Trail.

I sure hope y’all aren’t tired of hearing from me by now!

Anyways… I used to be an electronic trading guy on Wall street in another life, but I’ve been in crypto since roughly 2016. I joined the Avalanche Discord relatively early, worked with the community and devs to the best that I can since before the mainnet and I became one of the MVPs which to this day, is my proudest achievement!

I’ve been in the ecosystem for a while, invested into and worked with various projects. Most recently I’m serving as an advisor to Snail Trail and Dexalot while heading FireStorm Capital. It’s been an amazing ride so far with Snail Trail, and I’m looking forward to further climbing the rankings for games across crypto with the team!

    Dave| Avalaunch

Well stated and appreciated. Worthy contributors to this ever growing ecosystem — So…What is Snail Trail and how does it fit in the current ecosystem? What problems does it solve?

    More JPEGS| SnailTrail

Snail Trail is a fun, play-and-earn racing game coming to Avalanche.

Players can race against each other and strategically breed snails in order to build their racing squad. The GameFi sector on Avalanche has been blossoming into an exciting ecosystem and we’re happy to support it with our own innovative addition.

There are a lot of blockchain games that can either be just “click games” or way too complicated for users. The most important question to ask when building a blockchain game is how can you make it so players can skip all the complications of crypto while simultaneously having a great gaming experience? With Snail Trail we focused on 2 things: Making the game fun, and making it sustainable. How do you make it fun? Have extremely simple UI/UX and have an element of strategy to the game. Easy to play, but hard to master.

How do you make it sustainable? Designing with a lot, and I mean a lot, of mathematics and forward thinking. Also, having dynamic game mechanics that balance the game in real-time as players are playing, while also taking a data-driven approach post-launch to monitor and improve the game. Similar to how Ava Labs uses a data-driven approach to perpetually improve the Avalanche Network.

We want Snail Trail to be fun, but we also don’t want the fun to stop.

    Dave| Avalaunch

Rock on and thanks for the bespoke answer. Next up — How was the Snail Trail idea born? How did its competitive theme come to be?

    FireStorm| SnailTrail

The founders of Snail Trail are engineers who were legacy gamers.

They began exploring their passion for crypto a few years ago and eventually came across Zed Run.

For those who aren’t familiar, Zed Run is a horse racing game on Ethereum where you buy a horse NFT and join races with it.

The whitepaper was a bit confusing and a lot of it was unknown to the player when you raced. This basically made it very hard to target instead of knowing what you can do to improve your performance. They were inspired by this Zed Run experience to build a better game.

They knew their background paired with their connections in the space gave them the ability to build a team to achieve this goal. The idea of racing snails instead of another animal gave a fun, ironic theme to the game.

It’s quite funny to think about racing snails, commonly known for being slow, in fast sprints down a racetrack to the finish line.

    Dave| Avalaunch

Appreciate you. The clarity and focus of your Git is as good as it gets. Perspicacious even.😀 What would you say are the main features that make Snail Trail unique? Can you expand on these briefly?

    More JPEGS| SnailTrail

Of course! We feel the features that make Snail Trail unique are live races, breeding, and the gene marketplace.

An underrated part of the game is being able to watch your speedy snails race in real-time. This is where the fun and excitement really shines.

Cheering on your snail as it wins you rewards easily wraps you up in a wave of emotions gamers are used to with any typical video game they love to play. We can all agree that seeing your strategy pay off (literally) is a great feeling!

Every snail has a set of traits, their Family, Class, Generation, and Adaptation. Each of these traits contribute to a snail’s racing performance in their own way. Players can then target superior traits in the offspring of two snails. We’ve simplified this process by allowing players to simulate their breeding, giving them a display of all possible offspring probabilities.

What’s also unique is that snails are hermaphrodites so you get to choose your snail’s gender every breeding cycle (30 days). A female snail can lay one egg per cycle, but a male snail can donate his genes and sell them on the gene marketplace up to 3 times per cycle. This creates an interesting dual-market for both snail racers and genes that players desire for breeding. Of course breeding snails requires an incubation fee.

What I love about the incubation fee is that it is dynamic. It contains a protocol coefficient in the formula that aims to weather the snail population and daily growth rate.

If a lot of people are breeding and the snail population is growing too fast, then the protocol coefficient increases. In turn, this increases the incubation fee to reduce breeding incentive. After balance is restored, the protocol coefficient slowly decreases.

In essence, the game optimizes NFT inflation by itself; it’s really cool stuff.

    Dave| Avalaunch

and that’s a mouthful. Appreciate this thoughtful response. What does the structure of the tournament program look like? Are there any partnerships that will fuel the adoption of this?

    FireStorm| SnailTrail

This is something we have in our future plans. Currently, we have two different race types. Daily missions where entry is free and everyone gets some amount of SLIME depending on which rank they finish the race.

And there are Competitive Races, where you pay an entry fee and can win up to 5 times the entry fee depending on how you finish the race. In these types of games the top three finishers share the reward pool which is the collection of entry fees.

Tournaments feature is on the roadmap and is a series of races where snails compete against each other to win the big prize. This prize can be SLIME tokens however it can also be any token, if any project wants to partner and sponsor the event.

Not only tournaments but also race rewards are available for such partnership opportunities, any partner/sponsor can offer their tokens as race rewards. This is similar to airdrops but instead as a project/sponsor you can do it in a fun way.

    Dave| Avalaunch

You guys means business here today. If this was any better, I couldn’t stand it. the pacing is nonpareil.

Can you explain how the ranking and the rewards system works?

    More JPEGS| SnailTrail

We really believe the ranking system is a critical part of the game.

It just makes sense for snails to compete against other snails who perform similarly. Snails speed is determined by various factors such as traits, user decisions and randomness. As a result there are fast & slow snails relative to each other. However this does not mean a slower snail cannot win against a faster one, that would not be a smart game design.

On average a faster snail is expected to win more against a slower snail rather than the other way around. Over time snails who perform similarly will end up racing against similar snails. The fastest snail should not be racing against the slowest, right?

That is why each snail is given an ELO Ranking score. On average, a snail with a higher ranking will perform better than a lower ranking snail. After every race, the ranking is adjusted when the expected outcome is compared to the actual outcome. This ELO ranking determines which league a snail races in, thus keeping the trails in order.

As for the rewards system, races are split into two types: Daily Missions and Competitive Races.

The Daily Missions are free to enter and the prize pool is dynamic with respect to the daily emissions schedule of the token. All racers are rewarded according to their race placement, 1st place receiving the highest percentage of the pool. Since all racers are rewarded, the number of times per day you are allowed to join a Daily Mission race are limited.

Now there is no limit to the number of Competitive Races you can join, however they do require an entry fee and only the top three racers are rewarded from the prize pool. Entry fees will vary from race to race and the currency used is our native token. This is where things start to heat up with some high stakes competition.

    Dave| Avalaunch

Someone call the 🔥man. How is the token economy designed to drive adoption while maintaining token value?

    FireStorm| SnailTrail

With great care and looooots of thought, partner and advisor meetings 🙂 Anyways…

The economy was designed with multiple things in mind. First and foremost, we do recognize the play and earn paradigm shift and we wanted to leverage this movement as a way to get our name out there, as a tool to acquire more players.

The typical question we also get regarding the economy, applies to most games honestly, is the question of sustainability. We (us and our advisors, partners, investors) put in a lot of thought and effort into the economy, emissions and the design.

We have a single token model instead of the typical two token model. We believe this allows the value of people spending time on our platform and playing the game to be accrued in a single place without having to come up with sophisticated value linkage models.

Additionally, it eliminates any possible confusion for new players. On the emissions side, we’ve designed our schedule such that roughly half of the community rewards will be scheduled and emitted throughout the next two years.

The other half is reserved (at the back of a piece of advice from an unnamed and extremely intelligent partner) for rewarding the most loyal players with surprise events, bonuses, etc. Besides the design and emissions, the team will also be constantly monitoring specific key performance indicators for the adoption, economy and sustainability and we do have a few tools that we can use to further balance everything out as the game grows.

    Dave| Avalaunch

What is the inherited use case for the native ERC-20 token that drives the economy of Snail Trail?

    More JPEGS| SnailTrail

Everything done in The Snail Trail Game uses our native SLIME token.

One of the obvious use cases for the native ERC-20 token is Competitive Race fees. In essence, the more tokens you have the more you can race, granted you can manage some top three placements. As we mentioned earlier this is a key component to the token economy.

It is also inevitable that racers will begin performing better and better at a consistent level which may cause those that are not improving to be left in the dust. While others race to earn high shares of the prize pool, it may not be appetizing for you to continuously receive 5% each time. One way to improve your performance is to test out multiple trails with your snail and evaluate its racing stats. Only then you’ll know which trails will provide the best results. This strategy requires more racing.

Another strategy to improve your performance is to breed superior snails. Target those traits that will boost your next snail’s speed so you can start climbing the ranks. The incubation fee will require you to spend your native tokens, bringing up another use case for it.

Finally, in the near-future game updates there will be more evolutionary options for players like the Laboratory, the Microwave, new game modes and an in-game shop that will offer various cosmetic items such as visuals, emotes, trails, sprays, scrolls, banners and so on.

And that’s everything not including it’s amazing name:)

    Dave| Avalaunch

Nicely stated and again, I applaud the level of clarity you all have been able to communicate. There are some interesting releases to look forward to in the next quarter right after launch. How does the long-term vision for the project look like?

    FireStorm| SnailTrail

Well our main core value is making Snail Trail as fun as we possibly can. Expect us to continue adding cool features to the game like the Laboratory, the Microwave, and a 3D isometric view for races. We’re going to keep building and growing the gameplay to create a well oiled, or slimed, machine of various snail possibilities.

We will introduce new modes that snail owners can compete in and use new strategies to win like battleground or death-match. We’ve got some awesome ideas for our Twitch channel @SnailTrailGame where we will be streaming races live 24/7. Tons of really fun things to do with that. Of course we have some surprises to keep everyone on their toes.

Overall the plan is to be perpetually improving the Snail Trail experience for our community in creative ways. We genuinely feel as though we’ve built a vigorous foundation and can’t wait to build out the ecosystem.

    Dave| Avalaunch

Your typing skills continue to astound me. Fastest keyboard on the seaboard. What are you most excited about when thinking about Snail Trail? Are there any milestones you’re looking forward to?

    More JPEGS| SnailTrail

We’re really most excited about releasing the game and watching the community grow.

We have such an awesome community, it’s incredibly fulfilling to see how excited everyone gets for contests and challenges. We can’t wait for what’s in store for the game. Being able to bring such a large group of Snail Trail fans together for some really cool events is going to be a blast.

Our first tournament will be a really cool milestone for us. Another thing that will be really cool is to see how many new people we can onboard into the Avalanche ecosystem. It’s crazy to see how some people or projects can onboard a community as easily as build one with natives and we’re hoping to achieve that as well.

Priority number one is getting this awesome game live so we can share it with you all. After countless hours of collective effort, it’s truly thrilling to see it come to fruition.

    We’re ready to start racing!

    Dave| Avalaunch

Well boom goes the dynamite. Now we move on to the twitter portion of the program where CT, the twitterati, the twittiscenti weigh in and ask the tough questions. This leg of the journey is both challenging and rewarding…first up….

    Twitter

Captain my…@captain_price9 — Could you tell us about the MARKETING strategy that @SnailTrailGame team followed to promote your product?

    More JPEGS| SnailTrail

Great question! A lot of people have been vocal about noticing how we may have a different marketing strategy relative to other NFT/crypto projects in the space. The team has always felt strongly about sticking to organic growth.

We believe this is the healthiest and strongest type of growth to build our game awareness and its community of players. It has done well so far as we can see from our recently sold out Genesis Mint and trading volume.

We are very proud of the extremely engaging Slime Gang community that we have built so far and are looking forward to growing the snail family!

Exxon Eskimo aka @Exkimoooo — Snails are extremely cute and i have no doubt that this game will fo far and beyond. My question is do you have a plan to deploy on subnet in the future because i can see that NFT market of the project will be very active.

    More JPEGS| SnailTrail

The game was built with the plan to launch on mainnet from the beginning. After development the team will be in constant data driven moderation mode to optimize the gaming experience so maybe in the future it may move to a subnet. We currently have a hybrid model and we believe it should be ok to start on C-Chain.

Subnets take a lot of time and building to produce and curate so the focus right now is to launch the Snail Trail Game with the best experience on mainnet. If and when our growth requires a blockchain on its own, then we’ll move to the subnet.

This should give us plenty of data points to observe as well since other large projects such as Crabada and Dexalot are moving to their own subnet.

@eryn_bae — How do you plan to improve the interaction with new users and with users outside the crypto space?

    More JPEGS| SnailTrail

Thanks for your question! Our focus will be growing our user base with the goal of making players, new and old, feel as if they are a part of the community and not just racing alone.

We plan to use multiple social platforms to organize events and spark engagement and collaboration between players. This can also include Snail Trail promotional content that we plan to target multiple audiences with. We want to create a high energy and exciting environment for all players!

@MCBBB8 — Do you have a testnet or Beta Version of SnailTrailGame that can be used as a practice tools for new users?

    FireStorm| SnailTrail

Good question! There is no practice version or the game or any plans to implement one. Having a practice version would conflict with our token economy and our intent of players racing in multiple Competitive Races in order to figure out how to optimize their racing strategy for the best results. As for new users, Daily Missions are free to enter and only require a snail to race. Also we will be live streaming the races in real-time on our Twitch channel 24/7 so new users can pick up some additional game strategy there too!

@smailpeoplenft — On which platforms will we be able to sell our snail NFTs? Do you have your own Marketplace?

    FireStorm| SnailTrail

Yes we do! The native Snail Trail Marketplace is on our website. It has direct access to each of the snail’s details page where you can easily see its family, class, genes, generation and more!

This will include racing stats when the game is launched. We’ve recently updated the native marketplace with more filtering, sorting, and previous sales info of each snail. We plan to continue adding more features and bettering the user experience going forward.

    Telegram

@JerichoJonesy Can Avalaunch make sure to ask about the decision to make Slime a single token with the Snailtrail team when the ‘technical deep dive’ happens?

    FireStorm| SnailTrail

First and foremost, I’d like to take the opportunity to thank our key partner AVALAUNCH here. We’ve spent an enormous amount of time working out the plan around the token design. We’ve gone with a single token because of a few reasons (which we touched upon earlier in the AMA as well) but here they are:

    • We believe, if we can power the game, the economy and ultimately the fun with a single token, we’ll be able to encapsulate the value better for our players. In an ideal world, we wanted to create a design that allowed the follow of time spent and activity undertaken directly to the token itself
      – Usually two token models have one inflationary and one non-inflationary token. Valuation for the inflationary token is usually very difficult, and the technical folks among us will know this, creating value linkage models across two tokens that do different things in an ecosystem is very hard.
      – Having two tokens creates confusion for users, i.e. if I’m a brand new user, my only goal is to race snails. Having to learn functions of two separate tokens may effectively be a barrier to game play.
      – Listing the single token is much easier than listing 2 tokens 🙂 As most of you hopefully know, SLIME is intending to come to the market in the fairest way possible, and we’ll launch with Dexalot Discovery.
      – Most of our partners also worked on this part with us, and this model was universally liked and supported.

But with that said, our founders could definitely add more to this when the technical AMA happens!

    @cenzo_spriggs

Can you tell us about your team members? are they qualified and professional in their fields? what are the recruiting qualifications for team members for your extraordinary project?

    FireStorm| SnailTrail

The team is in my opinion extremely qualified and I’d love to explain why. First and foremost, hopefully most of you have read the whitepaper and if not, you absolutely should because understanding the whitepaper is going to be an edge in this game.

Both of our founders are engineers. One of our founders has spent a considerable amount of time building security solutions, focusing on cryptographically secure applications for a very large government research and development firm.

Our other founder has developed many cutting edge web2 applications as a part of large companies, and also has been a game developer for a little while.

Maybe more importantly than this, I know these guys from GAMING. They are legitimate and hardcore gamers.

I’m sure all of you have played at some point in your lives. Have u ever heard the term “CASUAL GAMER” ?

these two guys aren’t that, they were super gamers, focusing on all aspects of the mechanics, design, and game play and I’ve had the privilege of playing with them before.

So my connection to them goes deep and it’s personal.

And it’s not just the founders, a considerable number of people on the team have played the same games with me and our foundrs 🙂

I also want to talk about our chief designer.

This is a gentleman who actually is a real, legitimate artist, who ran his own art exhibitions in the past, who also served as a designer for many large scale projects. I personally love the cool, minimal and unique designs of our snails and it’s 100% his creation and vision.

Our music is produced by again one of our game friends from the past, who is now part of our team.

Our front end is being developed by another gentleman again from our gaming crew 🙂

I think I’ll end this question with, if you played games well with people, that friendship stays around forever 🙂

    @dralevin1994

How can users stay updated with this project? Are there channels, including local communities where users can get the latest updates?

    More JPEGS| SnailTrail

Absolutely there are! Our main socials for updates are our Twitter and Discord.

The official Snailt Trail Twitter is here: https://twitter.com/SnailTrailGame

This is where we ran some awesome community contests, promote all exciting upcoming events or game releases, and love to hear back from the Slime Gang as well.

Definitely keep an eye out there for previews and alpha coming soon!

In our Discord, we like to keep the community updated with similar events, but this is where you can ask questions and get quick repsonses from our amazing mod team, some super snails in the community, and even the core team!

You can join the rest of the snails in our Discord here: https://discord.gg/JZTs325xKr

Tons of alpha in there being discussed when it comes to game strategy.

We also have some really cool Discord bots that like sales tracker, snaildex (snail genes and visual rarity from snails you choose), and even a benner bot that creates a peronalized Twitter banner using your snails! All you need to do is enter your wallet address.

    @trungchien2

Can you give an overview of your Tokenomics, and the UTILITY of Token?

    More JPEGS| SnailTrail

Definitely. So a quick review of our token utility is
    -Competitive Races
    -Incubator
    -Laboratory
    -Microwave
    -Micro-transactions (Cosmetics)
    -and more!

SLIME is used throughout all the game mechanics

I also want to touch on some alpha that was particularly discussed by our Discord community after some snails had went deep into the white paper.

Many are curious of where the Incubator (breeding) fees go and if they are burned.

Since the SLIME token’s total supply is 300000000, the incubator fees are kept untouched in the contract and circled back into the game rewards when emissions are completed through Daily Missions and future game modes.

    @SimplyGabriele

Many projects have problems with UI / UX and this one turns off new users. How do you plan to improve the interaction with new users and with users outside the crypto space?

    More JPEGS| SnailTrail

As Firestorm mentioned earlier, we have an amazing group of hardcore gamers paired with a very talented artist and chief designer.

This makes UI/UX one of the top priorities for our game.

With the player in mind, the game design is built for simplicity. We want our players to have a complex blockchain game, but it feels like a reguler fun video game.

Many many formulas and probabilities, however we make it easy. Let me explain. Our breeding mechanic is very comlpex, but the player will be given the probabilities of possible offspring with the Breeding Simulation.

No need to draw up your own family and genes mapping when you can select two snails and it hands you the potential outcomes on a silver platter!

Another example of this is your snails racing stats. We have someone mention on the Discord how they planned to be very busy recording their snail’s races so they can be the best at optimizing strategy.

Well this is all handed to you on a silver platter as well!

Put away the spreadsheets because all you’ll need to do is check the snail’s details page and you can view a history of all it’s racing stats.

These are just a couple of the ways we like to make sure our players can focus on having fun and strategizing without doing any tedious side tasks. We want to provide the best racing experience!

    Dave| Avalaunch

@FireStorlvl and @moreJPEGS it has been a pleasure having you here today. The community very much appreciates the time and presence of you both as a two-headed monster extraordinaire representing Snail Trail. We’ll dig in a little deeper on the tech side of things in AMA #2 and I look forward to hosting the next one.

    More JPEGS| SnailTrail

Thanks again for having us! Excited to the future 🙂

    FireStorm| SnailTrail

It’s been an absolute pleasure being here! I really hope I get to work with you guys again, we are rooting for the continued success of Avalaunch and we’ll see you all on the trails!

  • Snail Trail X Avalaunch: IDO Announcement

Snail Trail X Avalaunch: IDO Announcement

The impact of gaming and now GameFi in the blockchain space can not be overstated. The long predicted breakthrough for Ethereum was long assumed to be gaming on the blockchain. The inherent limitations momentarily put it on the backburner and then along came DeFi. Gaming, as an industry, is simply too big and the blockchain too rife with opportunities for it to be denied. With the advent of “play-and-earn” and the buzzword of “GameFi” now in the vernacular of crypto users, this model represents a potent marriage that could well last a very long time.

What we are witnessing is but the beginning and one that the Avalanche ecosystem will be instrumental in delivering. Avalanche is attracting more and more top tier projects that require the low fee structure and near instant finality of this powerful L1.

For gaming projects, such features are essential and fortunately for Avalaunch, we are pleased to announce our next IDO: Snail Trail.

    Project Overview

Snail Trail is an NFT based racing game where players place their Snails in competitive races and win rewards. Players can own, optimize, reproduce, and race with their Snails.

Every Snail belongs to one of five families. Based on their genetics, they have unique traits and racing preferences that players can get to know better to develop tactics and strategies that will improve their performance — and maximize reward earnings. A Snail’s performance also depends on the racing track environment. The game’s reproduction systems allow players to mint more Snails and compete in more races.

Snail Trail is a new kind of racing game that requires strategic thinking and foresight — paired with the fun of collecting NFTs. Snail Trail is the first NFT based racing game on Avalanche Network where each snail has innate artistic characteristics rendering it unique, while combining other traits that affect a snail’s racing performance.

Snail Trail is extraordinarily well thought through and their documents are remarkably thorough in clear in delineating both the value proposition of the game and the level of strategy required in order to play it effectively. For sake of this overview, we will not delve into all of it but for highlighting the approach, let us consider the family and classes of the snails.

    Family

    • Snails can belong to one of 5 different families.
    • Each family has a different letter assigned for its gene.
    • Each snail has 20 genes in its genome. The most dominant gene determines its family.
    • Both parents randomly pass on 10 genes to the offspring’s genetic sequence.

While the quantity of genes is important for reproduction, its order in the genetic sequence is not. Genesis Snails have the following genetic sequence:

Family genes are ordered from recessive to dominant which means Atlantis (X) is the rarest one while Garden (G) is the most common. Even though Genesis Genomes are not purebred, snails might evolve into purebreds through the reproduction process if they have 20 times the same gene.

In determining the family of a Snail, Purity is used as an indicator to indicate pedigree as it shows the count of the most common genes in a given snail’s genetic sequence. Purity for a snail can be 4 at minimum and 20 at maximum. For example; purity of a genesis snail is 11.

If an offspring snail receives the two most common genes, which family would it belong to?

The snail will belong to the family which has the most dominant gene. Let’s take a look at an example. If a snail has a 4X + 4A + 4M + 4H + 4G distribution in its genome, then it will belong to the Garden(G).

    Class

Snails can fall under one of the following 7 classes:

    • Master, Expert, Apprentice, Initiate, and Novice classes will be available in-game anytime.
    • Genesis and Special classes will be minted to specific users for a specific time period.

Beyond these measures, the Snails delve into generation and adaptation:

Generation: The generation of a snail represents how far down a snail is from the first ancestor on its family tree. A snail can be brought to Earth in two different ways: as an Incubator or a Laboratory snail.

Adaptation: Each snail adapts in a unique way to its environment. However, this does not mean that a Cold Adaptive Snail never performs well in Hot conditions. On average it achieves better results in cold conditions than in any of the other environments.

The appearance is composed of colors, body types and the traits of the snails’ features themselves. Given adaptations and myriad factors will affect performance given that the races themselves will vary in both distance and conditions.

    Closing Thoughts

Snail Trail is a project more than worth investigating. Although we are not fond of comparisons, it has the sort of maturity and thoughtful economics of larger, more established tokenized games. We believe that it is yet another great example of how diverse the gaming culture is becoming on Avalanche.

Consider Snail Trail’s roster/lineup of events:

    • Competitive Races
    • Daily Mission Races
    • Incubator (Breeding)
    • Laboratory (Burn & Mint)
    • Microwave (Upgrade)
    • Leagues (Seasonal Rewards)
    • Tournaments
    • Twitch Live Stream

We strongly encourage potential users to deep dive into this project as the perfunctory overview offers a mere glimpse. Snail Trails at a high-level is quite easy to grasp — NFTs as snails with distinctive characteristics which participate in races in a play-to-earn environment. This is an attractive point of entry for many that will surely send them down the breeding rabbit hole and given the game launch is slated for this quarter, we are all, to some degree, off to the races!

“The Avalaunch created the one of a kind prime platform for launching successful projects. While most from the outside see Avalaunch as an IDO platform, having worked with the Avalaunch team over the course of many challenges, I can safely say that they’ve created something truly unique and extremely valuable to the ecosystem. The support and most importantly guidance we have received from Mark, Dave and the rest of the team has simply been priceless. They’ve helped and we strongly believe that they are a big part of our success.” Co-Founder of Snail Trail, Orexr.

MetaDerby AMA #2 — Technical Deep Dive with Karm (Co-Founder, Tech Lead) & Sky (Marketing ) (Recap)

In this AMA, we will be joined by Karm and Sky, MetaDerby’s Co-Founder and Tech lead, and Marketing Lead, respectively. We’ll be covering the project at a high level. The focus of this AMA will be the business development, vision, road map, and post-IDO plans.

    Dave| Avalaunch

Hello and welcome to the sequel, the due, the deux, part II of our AMAs with Metaderby. Yesterday, well, I have to say it, @misutelegram put on a clinic and set the bar perhaps unreachably high. Here to see if they can come close without pulling an Icarus are two fine members from Metaderby — @metakarm and @sky_harris. Welcome. How are you both doing today?

    Sky| MetaDerby

Hahaha yeah we love @misuTelegram Thanks for having us! Doing great

    Karm| MetaDerby

    Hello everyone

    Dave| Avalaunch

Good to hear and welcome. Let’s get into it and before we begin, I’d like to thank you for coming on board. Not commonly we have two esteemed colleagues.

Please tell us a little bit about yourself: your academic background, your previous experience and how you ended up being involved with MetaDerby?

    Sky| MetaDerby

Hey there, I’m Sky- marketing lead at MetaDerby. I graduated from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, and have worked in a slew of Web2 companies including ByteDance (TikTok) and Lenovo doing digital media marketing and product marketing. Previously I’ve launched a couple NFT projects, as well as a DEX and a DEX-builder before coming to MetaDerby

    Karm| MetaDerby

I am Karm and I worked at Binace.US for 2 years when Binance. US was just launched. Nice to meet you guys

    Sky| MetaDerby

Karm is part of the former Binance mafia that runs our team. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time. But here we are, Karm having developed the algorithm and me along for the ride at MetaDerby!

    Dave| Avalaunch

Awesome and quite a ride it will be I have the feeling.

Why is MetaDerby’s team adept to build the web3 infrastructure to enable the first blockchain horse racing game on Avalanche?

    Karm| MetaDerby

Fist of all our founder Mike is a big fan of horse racing. We also thought it’d be a pretty cool idea to buid a hourse racing project on-chain.With Metaderby we’ve combined traditional horse racing with innovative technoologies to make the whole thing more intersting and exciting, We are a team that understands both horse racing and blockchain, So why not buid a horse racing geme on the Avalanche blockchain?

    Sky| MetaDerby

Yeah Karm has 10-years of development experience, which is more like 20 in the environments and pace he’s worked at haha. As tech lead previously at Binance, and with a fully-staffed development team underneath him, the pace and consistency with which we hit our milestones is pretty staggering.

As far as Avalanche goes, it became a clearer and clearer choice for us over time. Quick transactions, cheap transactions, over 120,000 smart contracts deployed and 20k unique developers as of fall last year. And subnets will be increasingly interesting for us and other AVAX projects.

    Dave| Avalaunch

Excellent. Subnets indeed are interesting. When did the full team come together, how many full-time devs are there, and how long has the game been in production for?

    Karm| MetaDerby

We come up with the idea in October of 2021 when we thought horse racing would be cool. There are just a couple of us at that time. Now? We have grown to team of over 20, with more than 10 full-time developers, We are actually still expanding and you are welcome to join, so send me your resume hahhahah.

We actually started develpment early on in November with two demos, We wanned to give your uses best experience and we ended up going with the second domo version of the game, That’s the current iteration we are implementing.

    Dave| Avalaunch

How long did it take the team to develop the horse racing module prototype? What about building the marketplace?

    Karm| MetaDerby

The horse racing module prototpy is a crucial part of the game. is’t the first thing we developed / it took us about 3 months to develop the 3D model of the track race, We have been working on ths fro a long thime and there will be more equipment and new race horses coming in the future, so you should definitely be paying attention

    Sky| MetaDerby

The Mystery Box segment of the marketplace is finished. We’ve had that ready for a few weeks now. That took the product and dev team a few weeks to finish completely. Actually, a lot of the time spent on the Mystery Box segment of the marketplace was put into design. We went through a couple design iterations of the Mystery Boxes and ended up with models that we really are quite excited about. You can check those out now on our webiste.

The horse market segment of the marketplace is still under development, and estimated to launch around the end of May.

    Dave| Avalaunch

Thanks for this. I’m always into a good mystery box segment. Color me curious. 😀I have to say, there are many well-thought mechanics at play that make MetaDerby a unique, competitive game, ranging from races and breeding to NFTs, as well as intricate earning mechanics. Can you give us a high-level overview of these different aspects and how they interlink together?

    Karm| MetaDerby

Yes, we have the bloodlines, breeding, the marketplace, comeptitions and daily race rewards, etc, And there is very clever connection between them that constitutes our system, Briefly, a horse’s pedigree affects the performance poins of a hourse and the amount of money you earn through the market where you can buy a horse that you can then go on to breed, From there, customize and level up your horse for more rewards and racing.

    Sky| MetaDerby

Let me break it down like this:

Horses are split into 6 classes -> Starter Horse, Class V, Class IV, Class III, Class II, and Class I, with Class I being the strongest, and the starter horse being the weakest. Horses will race within their class.

    Dave| Avalaunch

Out of the range of mechanics that make MetaDerby unique, which one has been more complex or required more time and effort to build from the get-go? What set of challenges do you expect once in their beta version?

    Karm| MetaDerby

Essentially, having so many factors related to each other and intricately interwines is a very challenging thing, We think we have truch a good balance between the rac matching algorithm, gam logic, reward output, etc. one common problem is this space howere is token inflation, but we have taken steps to ensure that there’s a balance between experience gained, rewards gained, cooldown periods and more to stifle inflation issues, thre’s elements to wining that include not only your horse performance, but also its properties, and a decent amount ofRNG as well

We also have plans to introduce a customized lobby mode that allows your to play with your friends , witch will then increase the social and community felling of the game

But for now with the beta game, we are prepared what we hink is a pretty good user experience to reward those who have supported us and participated in our activities in their early stages

    Sky| MetaDerby

I’d say probably our breeding logic. We put a lot of thought into how we were going to handle breeding and how that would affect the game economy. There had to be controls on breeding as not to have a rampant number of new NFTs being created and causing the game economy to inflate out of control. Also, our breeding logic mimics real life, in that 2 parent horse NFTs breed a new offspring which has a chance to be of better quality and stats of either of its parent NFTs. The concept seems simple enough, but it is not a logic used by other games.

    Dave| Avalaunch

Looking at the roadmap there are so many corner-stone developments on the way. Among them is a mobile version of the game. Will this have the same accessibility as the DApp version?

    Karm| MetaDerby

Yes we will launch a mobile version so that users can join the competition at any time, We are designing our account system for it now You will of course be able to sign in with your wallet address, but we are also considering adding login features via facebook, phone email, and other third party to login features, we wanna make the agem as accessible and easy to play as possible

    Sky| MetaDerby

There’s less GameFi projects than you might think launching a mobile app version. There’s some reasons for that, including the chokepoints from web2 tech companies and the fees they take for launching your app on their platform.

    Dave| Avalaunch

Later in the year, VR integration is posed as the first step to leap into the metaverse. Can you describe this integration, what it will entail and how long do you see this in the development phase before players are able to immerse themselves into the MetaDerby metaverse?

    Karm| MetaDerby

Yes we plan to support VR versions. VR provides a real user experience, imagine that you can watch the real game at home at a different angle from what you’re used to with the game previously. We’ll start development after the mobile version of the game, around the fourth quarter of this year. Support for watching the game in VR is not actually as difficult as you might think, but we are aiming to provide more functionality in the VR version of the game.

    Sky| MetaDerby

Our current testnet version already has 3D camera angles viewable from all angles with zoom in and out capability. To move this one step further, we want users to be able to enjoy the game in VR and have a first-person view of the race. So in the first iterations, it will be the point of view of the horse, but we plan to add Jockeys in the future, so the view will be from the rider perspective. Also we want to build the VR function in with the NFT land creation as well as spectating. We want users to be able to view races, make predictions and maybe even catch a live concert combined with one of the tournament events.

    Dave| Avalaunch

What sets of technical challenges did your team encounter while building the early infrastructure for the game? How were these overcome?

    Karm| MetaDerby

This is a good question We have a strong technical team, for our users- fund and account security/safety is the most important thing. We did a lot of protection in this aspect, including encryption, SSL signature strategy management, in-game wallet design. Having the courage to make such decisions is a challenge in itself, and we have designed coping strategies that include preventing robots and deterring any bad actors in potential extreme situations. Safety is key for our project, our users, and our team at Metaderby

    Sky| MetaDerby

Our first demo version that we built for testnet was too laggy because many functions were waiting for on-chain results. In order to overcome this we had to do a rebuild for better scalability. It’s a combination of centralized gameplay with decentralized blockchain aspects. The important parts like user wallets and assets will of course still be on-chain.

    Dave| Avalaunch

Why did the team decide to build on Avalanche as opposed to the earlier blockchains? And how has your experience been developing in this ecosystem?

    Karm| MetaDerby

We investigated a number of chains including BSC, Polgon, AVAX, etc. But we believe that AVAX is a fast-growing public chain with a large user base. Most importantly, AVAX continues to maintain the ability to scale and innovate. We plan to develop support for a subnet base on AVAX which will be vital for development of our DerbyVerse.

    Sky| MetaDerby

You just flat out can’t build on Ethereum with transaction costs and snail speeds. There are a bunch of other newer, high throughput chains, layer 2 solutions and EVM chains. Ultimately we decided to build on Avalanche because we saw how passionate and supportive the avalanche community is. Also its rapid growth with subnets an attractive future upgrade for us.

This community really is amazing. Lots of projects and people supporting each other across the AVAX ecosystem. It’s a choice we made that’s continue to give and give as time goes on.

    Dave| Avalaunch

Appreciate this. Are there any last thoughts or comments you would like to share with the community today?

    Karm| MetaDerby

We’re really excited about this project. We’ve put our whole heart into the development of this thing. We’ve had a couple challenges along the way, but have found solutions for it all and have become much stronger as a team because of it.

Horse racing is now in our blood. The metaverse is next, And we are really excited to have you with us

    Sky| MetaDerby

At this point it feels like there’s nothing we can’t do. We won the Dora Hacks Avalanche. Asia Hackathon our DerbyTicket NFT collection sold out in 5 seconds, and our IDO is currently underway which we expect a sellout performance in.

A huge thanks to our community. The groundswell of support we’ve received over the last few months has been astounding.

    Avalaunch IDO Happening NOW!

Excited to have you join us! Can’t wait to race together in the DerbyVerse

    Twitter Questions

    From @CryptoKhangng2

Looking at your investors, you have an incredible investor base. We are excited about the interest of these investors in this project. Any more exciting news?

    Karm| MetaDerby

Thanks! We feel quite confident in our investor base too. We’ve reserved some allocation for a big new investor actually. We can’t tell you who it is yet, but we’ve been in talks for weeks with them and we are excited at the potential to leverage their resources and market for MetaDerby

    From @Boredbull1

What strategies will you employ to prevent DBY token from having long-term liquidity problems?

    Sky| MetaDerby

Staking. Staking and derbyverse land purchases. Staking is going to give you a couple benefits- an APY of course. But we’re also developing referral links that are generated from staking, as well as game governance features that will all incentivize users to stake $DBY.

Plus, with the development of the DerbyVerse, land sales are going to be made in $DBY. So holding the $DBY token will be paramount to building into the future of MetaDerby.

    From @CristianDaro19

How many team members do you have? Do they have enough experience in the blockchain field?

    Karm| MetaDerby

Let’s see…we’ve got 10 full-time devs on my side. For marketing?

Our dev team is really experienced in blockchain development. We’ve got JS guys, Golang, Solidity, Haskell, all the skills that we need really.

    Sky| MetaDerby

Marketing we have 6 full-time. Plus the founders. So it looks like we’ve got about 17–18 total team members.

Yeah and our marketing team is full of NFT nerds. Our head was Global PR at Binance for years and years, and members of our team have plenty of experience launching NFT projects, DeFi projects, Dex-builders tools, SocialFi projects, and more.

    From @Ramachari110

Does the game allow player to player interactions? Will MetaDerby game have special rewards for the most outstanding builders/players of the week?

    Karm| MetaDerby

Yes. Customized game lobbies is the first one that comes to mind. Regular race winners will be invited to weekly tournaments, where users can actually earn $DBY tokens! So we do have some of those features built in.

    From @AkihisaMori45

who asks — Looking forward to the future of Metaderby — Now I want to ask what do you want from the public?

    Sky| MetaDerby

Your support! We couldn’t do any of this without our community. Come join us, be active in our ecosystem, our socials, our game. Give us suggestions on what you’d like to see, and come along for this awesome ride with us!

    Telegram Questions

    From @LokiTwoSpirit

Marketing is a central element for every project, so that everyone knows the potential that a project can bring is vital to achieve the goals set. What is your strategy to attract new users and Investor to your platform and keep them long term. @Sky_Harris

    Sky| MetaDerby

Yeah great question! Our big push right now is to be involved and cross-promote with AVAX projects and communities. We just announced our token listing and parternship with Trader Joe, the 10th biggest DEX in the world by TVL. We’ve partnered with Kalao to list our DerbyTicket NFTs. From there, we’ll keep pushing to collaborate with awesome projects and teams to gain more visibility.

    From @jerilynberry

Are you planning to promote your project in countries / regions where English is not good? Do you have a local community for them to better understand your project??

    Sky| MetaDerby

Yes! We have huge communities in HK, Turkey, Japan, Vietnam, Europe, Indonesia, and really all over. We have dedicated community moderators, as well as some Twitter personalities and YouTube video influencers who help us reach those markets and interact with those communities.

    From @Lashandaik

Do you allow suggestions and feedback from the community? Are we allowed in decision making, do you put community into consideration ?

    Sky| MetaDerby

Definitely! Come join our Discord community, provide your suggestions, communicate with us directly. Plus, with the launch of $DBY, stakers will have governance utility and will help decide the future of the MetaDerby project.

    From @Chinta111

What strategies does your project use to position itself and grow its community of players and strengthen it?

    Sky| MetaDerby

We’re the first free-to-play-and-earn horse racing game in the metaverse, and the first horse racing game on Avalanche. Those are really big selling points for us.

Community growth is actually pretty organic when you have an interesting product that’s needed. People love working with us, making content about our game, and joining our activities. We expect that to continue well into the future for MetaDerby and our community.

    From @roseanne_graham_74

What’s your main focus right now, are you focused on the community or market/Exchange or the products?

    Sky| MetaDerby

IDO is happening tomorrow! Along with that, we’re focused on the beta game launch in about a week or so.

Next is the alpha game launch in early May. Those are the big milestones for us. So product development and marketing will be working hand in hand to knock those out of the park.

    Dave| Avalaunch

@Sky_Harris and @metakarm as you know you had tough act to follow. @misuTelegram gave us his heart and soul yesterday but you have fared just as well. We truly appreciate your time today and we got a two-headed metaderby metaverse monster for the price of one. A treat having you both and I as well as our community look forward to your launch and the great things that clearly lie ahead.

MetaDerby AMA #1 — Project Overview with MetaMike (Founder) (Recap)

In this AMA, we will be joined by MetaDerby founder, MetaMike. We’ll be covering the project at a high level. The focus of this AMA will be the business development, vision, road map, and post-IDO plans.

    Dave| Avalaunch

Hello and welcome everyone to the MetaDerby AMA brought to you by Avalaunch. I have to say this is a project I’ve been excited about for some time. Today’s guest is someone I’ve had the pleasure of spending IRL time with and I’m psyched to have @misutelegram here with us today, one of the co-founders of this promising project. Welcome, how are you?

    Misu| MetaDerby

Hi, I’m good, thank you for having me

    Dave| Avalaunch

Good to have you. Let’s get into it and thanks for being with us today. Can we start with a brief introduction about yourself pls? How did you get involved in crypto?

    Misu| MetaDerby

Hi, I am Meta Mike, a founder of Metaderby. I have been in the crypto space since 2017 and have invested at the seed round level, advised or co-founded numerous projects. Last year, I dove into the NFT space and naturally that led into gamefi and p2e games.

I got in to the crypto through a personal friend who was way earlier in the space, and at the time was quite a big trader and investor. We would always meet to talk about crypto for a couple years before I got into it fully and financially.

    Dave| Avalaunch

What is MetaDerby and how did the concept come about? What market need does it meet?

    Misu| MetaDerby

Metaderby is the first Free to Play to Earn horse racing metaverse being built on Avalanche. Players will able to claim a horse NFT for free to start their gameplay journey with us. There will be multiple aspects of the game for different types of players to enjoy. From racing, to breeding, to NFT land ownership and race result prediction and spectating.

The concept for Metaderby and game play logic was the idea of my co-founder Karm. Karm is an avid gamer and played multiple p2e games and even started his own guild, before coming up with the concept. Previous to joining Metaderby team, Karm was the tech lead of binance.US and has been a software developer at other major tech firms before that. I got involved at the start when we were putting the team together, and we managed to setup a great team and also work with a great strategic advisor and incubator.

The Horse racing industry is a huge industry that most people have no idea about, unless it is actually something that you are interested in. Globally it is a roughly 112 billion dollar annual industry. We are lowering the barrier to entry for people to try and play a horse racing game, and spread this ancient past time to the masses.

    Dave| Avalaunch

Unlike many other NFT and Play to earn games available, MetaDerby’s idea of completing some early tasks to receive a free horse NFT stands out. Can you tell us what these tasks are, how long it takes to complete them, and most of all why did you implement this strategy?

    Misu| MetaDerby

So we wanted to create a free to play game and lower the barrier to entry so that everyone could try and enjoy a p2e game. So what we are going to offer to all users is, if they sign up on our site, and compete some social media tasks, they will be able to get a free horse in game to start racing with.

Some of the tasks are just going to be some social media tasks, like like and follow, tweet, join our discord etc. So it won’t take users long at all to complete.

    Dave| Avalaunch

Got it. I think lowering the cost of entry to zero is a coup. Many games have become prohibitively expensive in part due to their success.

Appreciate the model — As a traditional horse racing game, MetaDerby implements the most famous horses in American history, but of course this goes beyond with many more classes. Can you expand on the horse characteristics and how these aim with the overall vision of the game?

    Misu| MetaDerby

So we are trying to give an authentic experience to the player. Horse racing in the real world is already such an intricate and robust ecosystem. We didn’t have to make too many changes to it and try to mimic real life.

Just like in real life there are different classes of horses when racing. Lower classes race against each other and as they win races and run better times, they get promoted in class.

Each horse also has stats which will affect the outcome, its bloodline, speed and stamina, etc. As you racing the horse in game and train it. You will earn points which you can allocate to boost these stats.

    Dave| Avalaunch

It is a longstanding, rich with history, industry, pastime and passion. You’re taking a very big act to the blockchain. As with many games built on the Web3, MetaDerby is no different. Can you tell us why the concept of NFTs and the metaverse were married together to produce this game?

    Misu| MetaDerby

With the advent of blockchain and NFTs, users that play any sorts of games will be able to manage and control their own game assets. This is a huge step forward, and I believe that in the future, most multiplayer online games will have some aspect of blockchain integrated into it.

The metaverse will eventually become an immersive virtual experience. And the horse racing industry is so robust with so many different eceonomies going on, as I said earlier, we want to give our players an authentic gaming experience. So not only are there horse races, there will be a whole economy around the breeding and trading of Horse NFTs. The most widely participated aspect of horse racing in real life is the spectating and predicting of race results, so this will also be a big part of the game. And lastly we want players to be able to be part of the creator eceonomy, and thus we are offering NFT lands for sale for players to create and earn with.

    Dave| Avalaunch

I’m going to sell mint julebs on my land. 😀 How do you envision the MetaDerby metaverse? Which elements do you think will give it a competitive edge over the other metaverses?

    Misu| MetaDerby

The way I envision the metaderby metaverse is that there will be the daily grind of races. where users are trying to improve and rank up their horses in order to be the best performers so that they are invited to weekly tournaments.

We really want to have players enjoy playing the game and this game having that social element to it, where players will race, play and even wager with their friends. We want to add in the entertainment aspect to it so that players can enjoy it together. So they enter races, participate in a tournament, perhaps watch a big Tournament / Sponsored Cup event coupled with a live concert all in our metaverse.

And in the future, we don’t want to restrict ourselves to only horse racing. It will start as a horse racing metaverse, but we plan to expand it further and include various other types of games too.

    Dave| Avalaunch

    Really appreciate these thoughtful answers.

MetaDerby seems to operate under a dual-token system: DBY and HOOF. Why was it important to have this and how does the utility of these tokens differ from one another?

    Misu| MetaDerby

We felt having the dual token model was the best system because it allows us to manage our token economy. $DBY or Derby Token is our governance token, which will be finite and tied to the success of the game. And $HOOF token is our in-game currency that is used for most aspects of the game. HOOF will be used to pay out daily rewards to users and we also implement various burning mechanisms to help to keep the inflation down.

By having this dual token model, it also allows us in the future to expand the metaverse further. We can forge partnerships with other game developers by inviting them into our Metaderby ecosystem, and having them use DBY as their governance token too, while issuing their own in-game token, all while creating within the Metaderby metaverse.

    Dave| Avalaunch

And, to procure the land where i can open my mint juleb stand, I will need DBY.

How soon after the token launch will staking become available? Can you briefly tell us about the staking tier system and how the staking mechanism works?

    Misu| MetaDerby

Yes, to buy our NFT land, you will need DBY our governance token. Land ownership makes you a stakeholder in our metaverse

So upon the completion of the IDO and the token LP created with Trader Joe. We will have token staking farms also, we have not announced the details of that publicly yet though.

    Dave| Avalaunch

Gotcha. We’ll keep our specs peeled for that announcement.

Besides the DeFi staking model, you also have a referral system that crypto-gamers can enjoy. How do you plan to reach the traditional players not already involved in crypto gaming?

    Misu| MetaDerby

Yes, we plan to have a referral system for guilds which will incentivize them to on-board their players/scholars to play our game. Our focus primarily though, are the casual gamers who are playing this game because they enjoy it and for fun. Of course we also do realize the importance of partnering with guilds and guild play, but we don’t want our game to turn into something that people are just here to farm.

The full details of our guild referraly system will be released in the future. It will not be included at the immediately release of the game and will come slightly after.

One of the milestones on the current roadmap include the weekly tournaments and the breeding event. What are they and how do they work from a player perspective?

    Misu| MetaDerby

So we want also want users to play our game who aren’t in the crypto space. We are building a mobile app, and for the non-crypto users, we want to make t so that they can sign up for an account, and we will create the wallet for them in-game. So they will be playing our game, and hopefully, not even have to realize that they are playing a ‘blockchain’ game

    Dave| Avalaunch

This is a good point as well. That adoption thing. Free to earn will definitely give you a head start. This is a plus.

    Misu| MetaDerby

From a player perspective, there will be daily races that are ongoing 24/7. You will have to participate in races as part of daily tasks to recieve an extra daily task reward. We will invite the top horses to participate in weekly tournaments where the prize pool will be paid in DBY token.

Users will also be able to breed between male and female horses. They will create a new offsping horse NFT. Fees will need to be paid in HOOF and DBY tokens by each party. There will be cool down timers on the breeding as well as it gets progressively more expensive to breed a horse, there will be a counter of how many times an NFT is bred and also a max cap.. Offsping horse NFTs have the chance to be of better quality and stats than their parent NFTs.

    Dave| Avalaunch

This is impressive. Intricate and thought through.

You’ve been quite successful at making connections and partnering with some big players in both the Avalanche ecosystem as well as gameFi space. What values adding-partners will you be targeting next and why?

    Misu| MetaDerby

When we attended the Avalanche Summit, it was great event to meet everyone in person. And when we were there, we announced our successful seed round raise.

I did manage to network with a lot of people and talk to them about Metaderby, everyone I spoke to was interested to invest, but unfortunately, we had no allocation left in the round. There were some big names who were interested.

But for direct next steps, of course we also want to partner with some centralized exchanges. In a p2e game, it is so important to be able to provide liquidity to the players. Whilst DEXs are great, the liqjuidity is usually not as great. So we want to be able to offer that to our playes.

    Dave| Avalaunch

I’m sure no one here will complain about your centralized exchange plans. 😀And, our final question before we move on to the Twitter portion of the program — What are you most excited about when you think of MetaDerby and why?

    Misu| MetaDerby

Like I said earlier, the traditional horse racing ecosystem is already so robust. We are excited to bring that experience to players, but also expand upon it and create a whole virtual experience with other game plays and entertainment aspects. So while we are a horse racing game, we don’t want to be limited to just horse racing in the future within our DerbyVerse.

    Dave| Avalaunch

Well played Sir. You have the captured our appreciation on the first leg of your Avalaunch AMA journey.

    Twitter Questions

    From @daredevil2706

What type of races will be there? will there be any tournaments in-game that owners can do?

    Misu| MetaDerby

So there will be daily races which are on-going 24/7. Horse owners can race by joining our matching system. The matching system will put you against horses of a similar class only. There are classes 1 through 5. With 1 being the top. And yes there will be tournaments which are invitational. We will invite the top performers weekly to take part in it.

In the future when we build out the metaverse and have the land sales, users will even be able to create their own race tracks if they wish. They can arrange and host races and set prizepools and earn from that.

    From @moonboy_jack9

Is your gameplay can be easily understood by all kinds of players especially fwor those who are relatively new into crypto or just starting out?

    Misu| MetaDerby

Yes, the game play is very simple. I am not sure if you had any chances to view some of our demo videos that were posted to our social media. But all a user has to do is click the horse that they own, and then press race. If they do not own a horse, there will be buttons leading you to either claim your free horse or to buy a horse.

    Dave| Avalaunch

Moonboy Jack needs to DYOR a little more because those demos are fire.

    From @Maiphuong32

Many Play-to-Earn projects struggle with the token inflation problem. Is there a way for MetaDerby to solve that problem?

    Misu| MetaDerby

Yes, token inflation is a big problem in p2e games. with rampant and uncontrollable breeding to the farming of reward tokens. Luckily we are launching our game at this point of the game-fi industry. We were lucky to be able to see what the successful projects did well and where their pain points were.

So we do have various burning mechanisms to control our token inflation. All users will have to pay a race joining fee to enter a race, and from that pool, we cut a small percentage to burn. When breeding is done, there are fees to be paid and a portion of that will be burned. Our NFT market place will also have a small commission which a portion will also be used to burn and lastly for our prediction lottery, it is a rolling prize pool and a percentage of that will be burned. For the NFT token inflation, we also implemented cool down timers on breeding as well as maximum amount of times each NFT can be used to breed as well as increasing breeding fees each time the same NFT is used to breed. So it won’t make sense to use the same Horse to breed to the max limit, unless it is a horse of superior quality. And also the offspring horse NFTs will have timers on when they “grow up” to be able to participate in races and breeding.

    From @quyencao3200

Which will be more important to win the race, strength and speed of the steeds, or player skills?

    Misu| MetaDerby

So each horse has different stats, and just because you have the horse with the best stats on the track, does not mean you will always win the race. We have implemented a large luck factor that will contribute to the results. The luck factor is random number generated. The way it works for example is like top speed, a horses stats if its a good horse, there will be a range for top max speed to lowest speed, the luck factor will determine where on that range of top speed your horse will run during that race.

    From @AdcDavidtai1999

Your project looks unique and different ! How would you introduce Metaderby to “NON CRYPTO” people in order to make the project grow in the long-term.

    Misu| MetaDerby

We also want to target non-crypto players and that is one of our focuses. We are making the game free to play and also eventually making it so that users won’t even need to set up their own wallet, and it will be tied to their game account.

To us who are in this space, setting up a wallet is simple enough. But to a non-crypto person who knows nothing of this space, setting up a wallet, private a public keys and then network settings to make sure you’re on the right chain with metamask etc. These are all too complicated and barriers of entry for them. So we want to simplify it down as much as we can and make it as easy to play as other mobile app games.

    Dave| Avalaunch

Thanks for all this info. Again, it’s impressive what you all have developed over time with this. It’s one of the more mature games we’ve encountered to date.

    Telegram Questions

    From @Caryn_Rader

Are you afraid some day there will be another project with more innovative technology can replace your project ?

    Misu| MetaDerby

This is the nature of the tech and crypto space. Our team needs to remain agile and flexible to be able to adapt to new technologies or situations. Sometimes some of the questions I answer about plans for the future, get changed by the time that future comes, because we’ve had to adapt to the new realities in the eco-system.

    From @KayleenCoburn1996

Marketing is a central element for every project, so that everyone knows the potential that a project can bring is vital to achieve the goals set. What is your strategy to attract new users and Investor to your platform and keep them long term.

    Misu| MetaDerby

We have multiple marketing campaigns on-going. Some within the crypto communites and guilds via AMAs in telegram and discord and social media. Other media is targetting the legacy tech market and maybe people who aren’t in the crypto space but interested in tech and games.

I spoke about how we want everyone to be able to play our game and be as inclusive as possible, so we have to target people outside of the crypto space also. And to keep them long term, we need to make the game fun and also provide value for players to be able to earn for participating in our eco-system.

    From @Orenjineko02

What is your opinion about current market condition?
Because when we launch a project in bad market, they will spread many FUDs. How DBY team counter it?

    Misu| MetaDerby

The current market conditions for crypto overall are not too bad. Most recently, we have seen a small pullback in the game-fi space, I think something that contributes to this is maybe the fatigue of farming games repetitively. I highlighted earlier that these games, most importantly, need to be fun to play. So that should be the primary driving factor for people to play it.

    From @preciouswoody

Do you guys feel satisfied by seeing your progresses and achievements till now, when you look back to the day when you have started this project?

    Misu| MetaDerby

Yes, we are very satisfied, but also know there was room for imporvement. Since we started work on this project, we have built a demo version and our beta is launching at the end of this month.

We had a successful seed round raise and were able to announce it while we were at Avalanche Summit in Barcelona meeting many of our investors and partners, like Ava Launch!

We had a successful NFT mint for our Derby Tickets, the public mint sold out in seconds and we are the top volume collection for the last 7 days on Kalao.

And finally we also recently won the community vote for the Dorahacks Avalanche Asia Summit with over 6500 votes.

    From @Larissa_thomsen_1991

I would like to know why team decided to create project within the NFT? How much potential do you see in the future for the NFT?

    Misu| MetaDerby

Our team seems blockchain and NFTs as the future of gaming. Not just crypto game-fi, but all gaming.

Before when smart phones were initially released, there were mobile game apps and that was a new concept for people. But today, that is the norm.

Blockchain and NFTs allow users to have governance over their own assets, hold them securely and trade them as they want. Imagine all the multiplayer online games you have played from legacy gaming, don’t you wish you were able to freely trade your inventory that you worked so hard to procure?

Also, blockchain can make things like competitions provably fair and also record the results for everyone to see and not be tampered with.

    Dave| Avalaunch

    Thank you @misuTelegram

You’ve been a great guest and it was pleasure to have you and hearing more about Metaderby.

Very much look forward to our sale and your forthcoming launch.

    Misu| MetaDerby

Thank you for having me here today.
Everyone please follow our social media for the latest updates, we have the IDO coming up soon with our awesome partners AVAlaunch and the latest updates on that will be from our twitter, discord and telegram groups

    MetaDerby X Avalaunch: IDO Announcement

    MetaDerby x Avalaunch: IDO Announcement

Horse racing is one of the most ancient of all sports and its basic premise — to identify which horse is the fastest over a set course — has been unchanged since at least classical antiquity.

Meanwhile, the history of horse breeding goes back millennia, with one of the earliest people known to document the breedings of their horses being the Bedouin of the Middle East — the breeders of the Arabian horse.

With the advent of mechanical forms of transportation, the century old relationship humans have had with our horses dissipated. Slowly and gradually, the enjoyment of horse racing and the knowledge of horse breeding became relegated only to a select few.

With the possibilities of blockchain, NFT, tokens, and the advent of a global play-to-earn community, creating a metaverse where humans can reconnect with our ancient friends and celebrate this unique relationship is on the table. With this in mind, Avalaunch is proud to present MetaDerby as our next IDO.

    Project Overview

MetaDerby is a horse racing game and breeding-inspired metaverse where anyone can earn tokens through skilled gameplay and contribution to the DerbyVerse. MetaDerby also redefines the horse-racing gaming experience, making it accessible and profitable to gamers with its free-to-play model and blockchain-based integration including a create- to-earn land system, decentralized finance (DeFi) staking, and NFT marketplace.

    Classes

Racehorses are sorted into classes based on their genotype with:

    • Class 1 being the strongest, and Class 5 being the weakest.
    • Horses will race within their class in daily races and weekly tournaments.

    Ratings

There are four chief properties that help to determine a horse’s base rating.

    • Bloodline
    • Sprint Speed
    • Acceleration
    • Aggressiveness

A horse’s base rating is determined by its class ranking and inherent properties in order to assign it a rating number, ranging from:

    • 0–39 for a Class 5 horse to
    • 100+ for a Class 1 horse

    Outcomes

Classes and base ratings are not the only factors that can determine the outcome of a race as random luck factor contributes to 50% of the algorithm that determines race winners. For simplicity:

    • A 50/50 split between luck and properties/ratings exists.

    Breeding

Breeding is a pivotal element in the MetaDerby ecosystem. Users can enter their male or female horse into the ‘stud market’, where potential foal buyers any choose any male and female horse to breed. Uniquely, horses in the DerbyVerse can ‘breed up’ to a foal with traits superior to its parents.

    DBY & HOOF

The ecosystem’s is driven by the Derby (DBY) token which acts as MetaDerby’s governance and is required to purchase land. Its use cases are included but not limited to:

    • Metaverse land purchases
    • Staking rewards
    • Gaming governance
    • DBY can also be earned by winning weekly tournaments.

The HOOF token is an uncapped supply gaming token that functions as the inhouse currency for:

    • Entry fees to attend races
    • Stable fees for breeding
    • Farm land and race course materials and construction purchases

    NFTs

DerbyTicket NFTs are a very limited collection of 1000 NFTs on Avalanche. DerbyTicket NFTs give users a fully-equipped racehorse ready to compete in the MetaDerby game.

Players can buy, sell, and trade their racehorse NFTs on the MetaDerby marketplace, as well as third-party marketplaces. Racehorses can also be obtained via in-game Mystery Box purchases, including both Common Box and Legendary Box selections.

    Progress

In Q3 and Q4 of 2021 the MetaDerby development team completed the game’s design and algorithm development, as well as the tokenomics system, whitepaper launch, and game prototype.

Q1 of 2022 saw the raising of $2.5m in seed round funding in a round led by Blizzard Labs and Old Fashioned Research. The website was launched, the LFGLoot NFT mint event took place, and the second prototype of the game was developed.

Q2 of 2022 includes the DerbyTicket NFT launch, the DBY tokens IDO on Avalaunch, and the game beta launch. MetaDerby is the first free-to-play-and earn horse racing game in the metaverse, and the first horse racing game on Avalanche.

    Closing Thoughts

Horse racing on the blockchain was something of an inevitability. While nothing is going to replicate the smell of grass or festive atmosphere of a live race, serious and strategic gaming replete with breeding and a healthy dose of good luck is a compelling proposition. The success of earning games that are driven by competition and not graphics are becoming a mainstay in the ever growing gaming economy. Metaderby has done an excellent job of hitting on the key points of adoption and earning in creating a very playable game that looks to have some real traction and staying power. The steady progress by the team is evidenced by the number of stated milestones they have hit and the beta launch slated for this quarter indicates a maturity to this project that offers near-term possibilities.

Bold Point AMA #2 — Technical Deep Dive with Denis (Founder, CTO) (Recap)

On 4/09/2022 at 6:00 p.m. (PST), an AMA session was held on Avalaunch with special guest, Bold Point’s Founder and CTO, Dan, for our second AMA to cover the technical underpinnings of the project. The focus of this AMA will be the underlying tech, development and roadmap. Below we present to you an excerpt from AMA with questions and answers.

    Niki | Avalaunch

Hello everyone! And welcome to our second AMA with the Bold Point team!

Today, we’re joined by the game’s founder and CTO, @Opana4ka, to do a Technical Deep Dive into the project.

Welcome Dan — and good to have you! We appreciate the time with our community. How are you doing today?

    Dan | Bold Point

Hello! Nice to be here, guys

    Niki | Avalaunch

Awesome… so let’s jump right in… Thanks for coming out today to talk to us more about Bold Point. First of all, can you please introduce yourself?

    Dan | Bold Point

Greetings to all of you attending this AMA session today, and those who will be watching it over later on. My name is Dan and I am the founder and CTO of Bold Point. I also hold the position of CTO at YAY Games. As for me, I am just a person who sincerely loves his work and is always trying to get the most out of every single effort. I started my career about 10 years ago as a developer. My first acquaintance with blockchain was in 2014, and since then, almost every project I worked on was connected with decentralized systems in one way or another. There were both successful and failed projects throughout my working experience, and I think I learned a lot from each of them. In 2018, I redirected my professional vector a bit and opened my own studio specializing in the development of high-load applications and dApps. The studio operated successfully up until 2021. What happened to it, you might ask? We entered into partnerships with Yay Games and my colleagues, myself included, have been part of a large team of professionals ever since.

    Niki | Avalaunch

Thanks for that. The next question is a two parter…. 1.) What does the team at Bold Point value the most? 2.) How has this dream team been built?

    Dan | Bold Point

The history of Bold Point is quite interesting and starts long before the advent of YAY Games. It was an internal project of our team that we toyed with in our free time. Initially, it was a project fueled by pure enthusiasm. The finished prototype was ready back in 2021 and it looked like a browser game from the early 2,000s. But it eventually developed into something bigger and we are now aiming to make a product that will be competitive with the games of the current decade in terms of graphics and gameplay. And to achieve that, we need an almost threefold increase in staff and team members.

For our team, the most important thing is the team itself, no matter how gullible that may sound. We value every colleague and consider them to be our most important assets. The market, the business tasks, and the goals are constantly changing, but the people are what matters and what stays. We are a big family that is inspired by common goals and objectives.

    Niki | Avalaunch

    We love to hear that.

As far as developments go, enthusiastic crypto lovers and game players, thanks to the demo release, are already able to have a taste of what the game would look like.

What would you describe as the technical challenges in making this version available before the token launch?

    Dan | Bold Point

The most difficult technical problem we face is the fact that a lot of the functionality and mechanics are being developed in parallel inside the game. It takes time to test the many hypotheses we put forward and polish them out. And we need to do that for users to be able to fully experience and understand what the game will be like. Sometimes, it is not possible to move along our roadmap timeframes. No matter how regrettable it would be to admit, we are not always able to accurately estimate the time it takes our developers to deliver. One thing that’s reassuring is that we are not alone in making this blunder, and this happens all the time in gamedev. Many medium and large studios have been postponing the releases of their games for quite some time. This is mainly due to the fact that games of this scale have many introductory and branching scenarios that cannot be fully thought out from the get-go.

But since we are dealing with the blockchain industry, which is brimming with fraud and scammers, we decided to develop and deploy a mechanic that would allow players to get to know the world of Bold Point a little bit better. This feature involves no direct interaction with our token, but the Play-to-Earn mechanic is included and is functional from the very beginning. It actually records and stores the player’s results up until the moment the token is launched. In the current release, the player’s success is measured in terms of accumulated points which are stored on-chain. The results of all the games the player passes will affect the APR% of farming in the game pool, and the most avid players will be able to multiply their token holdings many times over.

And as a result, we can prove to the community that we are not just making promises, but we are also showing some parts of the game live.

    Niki | Avalaunch

Bold Point game mechanics are rather sophisticated.

Can you describe the underpinning of these game mechanics and why it was important to develop 10 different ones?

    Dan | Bold Point

The main task that I was trying to solve when I was thinking about the whole concept of Bold Point was to create a game in which monetization takes place not only in a speculative manner on the token level, but is also based on the monetization and market economy regulation that is found in any of the classic games. As such, the environment in which such a model becomes viable should also evoke the interest of ordinary players who are generally unfamiliar with crypto. For this aim, the player’s interest must be stirred and the tasks that they must solve in-game must be short-term, medium-term, and long-term.
But first I’d like to share an economic cycle scheme that is available from the start plus an investor game loop as a next stage of our development roadmap. if you have a minute I could post up some materials — it’ll make it much easier to explain

    Economic Cycle List Project stage

    Investor Game Loop Next Stage

    Dan | Bold Point

As for short-term goals, the player will need to:

    • Pick a good set of units;
    • Grow the units;
    • Use the units smartly during combat;
    • And as a result, win the battle.

To achieve the medium-term goals, the player will need to:

    • Build a strong squad;
    • Win tournaments;
    • Gain influence by buying buildings and renting territories together with other players.

And as for long-term goals, the player will have to:

    • Claim a position in the ranking;
    • Accumulate some savings for some owned asset.

All this can be achieved only by having a sufficient amount of mechanics in-game that will motivate the player and keep boredom at bay.

    Niki | Avalaunch

Thank you for that explanation and for sending the visuals.

So the next question would be: What are the main drivers or unique advantages for building Bold Point’s own Marketplace, and not using existing ones?

    Dan | Bold Point

As part of building the YAY ecosystem, one of the areas that received the most emphasis is the implementation of a narrowly specialized marketplace (Loot) focused on the gaming assets market. A protocol was developed for this purpose, which makes it possible to connect various game projects without having to resort to long-term development. Therefore, it is not so much a native marketplace, but more of an integration with the solution we already have within the group of companies.

    Niki | Avalaunch

One interesting feature that players are able to experience is customization not just in terms of in-game assets but also the story in which they want to be part of? How has this come about, and what challenges does this pose as part of the development process?

Creating worlds in which players can change game configurations is a rather complicated and time-consuming process. It is not only about the complexity of the technical implementation side, but also the task of preventing players from breaking down the game and creating a misbalance. In order to prevent this from happening, decisions must be made only after confirmation by a majority of users (DAO). To be completely frank, not all the mechanics implemented in the game will be open to changes. But those that will be, will actually motivate players to band together into communities and plan out both their personal strategies and that of the project as a whole.

    Niki | Avalaunch

Now… Can you expand on the PVE and PVP concepts, how do they complement each other in providing players with this extra level of immersion experience as well as earning potential?

    Dan | Bold Point

PVP battles in games are good, because they motivate players to show how good they are and prove to everyone, including themselves, what they are capable of. PVP will include both simple fun that players will be rewarded for, and full-fledged tournaments, where winners will be generously rewarded. These will be seasonal events that will be held frequently.

PVE, on the other hand, inserts some mechanics into the game that allow the player to achieve goals outlined in point 4 I had mentioned earlier, as well as band together to defeat Raid Bosses and receive additional income from the properties they own.

The combination of these concepts allows us to make the game interesting and saturate it with all kinds of events. The end result is a wealth of different approaches to monetizing your time, or simply enjoying the game.

    Niki | Avalaunch

One concern that keeps popping up essentially in all crypto projects, given the recent event of Axie Infinity is security. Can you detail what this looks like for Bold Point?

    Dan | Bold Point

Thank you very much for such an interesting question. Yes, cybersecurity has been a problem since the dawn of IT, and when you are dealing with a fintech project, you need to be on the lookout all the time. Initially, in order to implement gasless transactions, we developed and deployed our own blockchain, similar to the Ronin that Axie Infinity uses. But after a long testing phase, as CTO, I decided to abandon this venture, mostly because I feared to take on such a huge responsibility. The biggest vulnerability that lies in such solutions is the bridges that exist between the blockchains.

We had decided to reconsider our approach well before that terrible event happened with colleagues from Axie. Since we are working on AVAX, where the cost of transactions is not that high, and the speeds sometimes reach thresholds of less than a second, we decided to implement gasless transactions in a different way, which includes signing actions on the user side and their subsequent execution by the operator. This allows us to achieve both security and free the user from having to pay for the gameplay itself. We can thus attract both ordinary players using regular onboarding, and relieve crypto players from paying for each action they make inside the game.

    Niki | Avalaunch

When can we expect the full version of the game, and what are the key developmental highlights prior to this?

    Dan | Bold Point

According to our plans, this should happen in the first quarter of 2023. But that does not mean that we will lock ourselves up somewhere and work on the game, forcing our entire community to just sit and wait. We will be frequently posting updates and augmenting the world of Bold Point with new mechanics and content. As such, we will be dividing the game into a series of stages, where players will always be able to find something new and exciting.

The key stages will involve the bolstering of the current game version’s content to make the combat more exciting and diverse. The next step will be to add the ability of customizing current units and creating unique characters via the 3D editor. These custom characters will also be taking part in the battles. Later on, the army and the character will be able to use in-game assets in addition to the currently available potions.

After that, the game will be in for a big update involving the addition of new territories and all kinds of dungeons.

At that stage, we will be gradually implementing the DAO mechanics that we talked about so much and are currently working on.

You can learn more in detail about the stages from the documents that we will be publishing on our website in the near future.

    Niki | Avalaunch

Avalanche is known for its close connections and friendly community. What has your experience, as a project building in this space been like?

    Dan | Bold Point

I believe that it was a great turn of luck and the excellent choice of blockchain that allowed us to start the story of Bold Point. The love and support are felt not only on the end user side across all kinds of chats, but also from the partners we interact with in this industry. Thanks to the current climate, we discovered much that was new for us. These factors combined allow us to build our plans for the long-term. I believe Avalanche has a bigger future with such approaches and visions, and our community is certain to grow exponentially.

    Niki | Avalaunch

Alright… we are done with this set of questions. Tremendous job with your answers. Super detailed and informative.

    From @natadmay3422

What has been your greatest challenge during project development?

    Dan | Bold Point

In my own opinion, the greatest challenge is to create a comprehensive ecosystem where all the mechanics are complementary to each other and token is not a simple addition to attract investors’ attention but a vital part of the game. Considering our ambition to conquer not only GameFi but the gaming market in general, we had to make sure that we’re building a solid ground in terms of game design and business strategy, which definitely affected how we prioritized the development itself and the idea behind launching Battle Demo before conducting a public sale. It required to put most of our efforts into developing the functionality and mechanics that would work in parallel inside the game.

    From @chimponzi_jam

The team behind Bold Point is also the same as the YAY Games team so could you explain me if this team is 100% focused on developing the Bold Point game or do they split their time also on the YAY Games platform?

    Dan | Bold Point

In our ecosystem we have a top-management board with a deep expertise in blockchain, crypto market and gamedev industry, who indeed implemented their expertise in both YAY Games and Bold Point.
We perfectly understand how important it is to have a team fully focused on game development, therefore we have a separate team responsible for the Bold Point development cycle.

    From @totominhchi

What do you think are the biggest problems BoldPoint is trying to solve for crypto users?

    Dan | Bold Point

The main problem we see in the current state of GameFi industry is a necessity to lower the entry barrier for classic gamers and prepare the whole segment for mass adoption. Our solution is a free2earn concept and triple A quality approach: this way we can be more flexible in our acquisition strategy and count on a higher retention rate thanks to easy-to-learn and hard-to-master gameplay.

    From @Sammy123vn

I read that you will implement something called “Cyclic Deficit”. Can you explain what it is and how it will contribute to maintain the value of the coins in the game?

    Dan | Bold Point

Token utility model combined with the tokenomics itself are key elements of a balance between buying and selling pressure of the assets. The demand for in-game NFT assets, DAO mechanics, objects and buildings ownership creates strong buying pressure for $BPT from the market and accumulates tokens on the game wallets where they’ll be burned or used back in rewarding schemes, but with lesser quantity then before that will cause the main deficit. The thorough and detailed explanation will be posted during the next few weeks.

    From @trantheanh_337

How user-friendly is your system, so that the game can focus on the gameplay rather than the monetization mechanics?

    Dan | Bold Point

Bold Point inherits the best practices from the leading Auto Battle representatives: Auto Chess, Teamfight Tactics, and Hearthstone Battlegrounds, thus we put the user engagement our first priority. Therefore, we bet on easy-to-start gameplay with a gradually increasing difficulty: it allows to onboard classic gamers and crypto newcomers without diving deep into monetization mechanics.

Smart contracts are prone to failure, and many projects fall victim to it, costing user funds and discrediting projects. How reliable and secure are your smart contracts? Did you test it with either party?

    Dan | Bold Point

As I said before, I have quite a lot of experience with FinTech field.
Earlier in one of the projects, we had a vulnerability that our engineers didn’t notice at the very beginning. We managed to save most of the funds, but it was a big blow to us.

Now, before any smart contract enters the main network, we thoroughly check it.
Both with the help of cross-review by the whole team, and we involve external companies of auditors. Now we’re working with 2 of them — Certic and Inspex

    From @donnette_grant

What are plans in for global expansion? Are you focusing on market at this time or focus on building and developing or getting customers and users, or partnerships?

    Dan | Bold Point

We’re focused on attracting well-known gaming guilds and their communities as well as regular players, normies, with just a traditional gaming experience. As game audience will grow, the more in-game features and will become sustainable and this will cause positive impact to $BPT demand in general

    From @leMeek86

Almost 4/5 of investors are focused purely on the price of token in short term instead of understanding the real value and health of the project. Could you tell us on motivations and benefits for investors to hold your token in long term?

    Dan | Bold Point

For long term $BPT token holders opportunities will open up at the next game stages, which will include DAO mechanics, as well as game mechanics that allow to lease lucrative buildings and lands.

The profit margin depend on the holder activity and the events that he will generate for the community.

The revaluation effect is inevitable so that we don’t use the 2nd token, whereas we use the burning mechanics and the emission is limited. We believe that will inevitably have a positive impact on both investors and players.

    From @Sammie_Rickman

Bold Point is free, which means that players do not need to make an investment to start playing. But how many hours of effort should I put in to generate a decent profit? How easy are the game mechanics? And finally, how do you attract non-crypto players?

    Dan | Bold Point

We implemented math model which allow to keep the certain profitability level for every active player with 0 initial spending volume. That defines our Free-to-Earn statement.

    From @rminiaRicks1999
What strategy will you implement to bring non-crypto-natives into your ecosystem? How do you keep a balance between developing the technology and also improving the value of your token?

    Dan | Bold Point
Prices and rewards in $BPT would be balanced automatically on every game cycle and will depend on player’s progress.

We have deep expertise in games-related marketing including performance, so we aware about the best practices of players attraction mechanics

Bold Point AMA #1 — Project Overview with Nick (CEO of Bold Point, YAY Games) (Recap)

On 4/07/2022 at 6:00 p.m. (PST), an AMA session was held on Avalaunch with special guest, Nick, CEO for Bold Point & YAY Games. Below we present to you an excerpt from AMA with questions and answers.

    Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch

Hello and welcome to another state-of-the-art AMA brought to you by the good people of Avalaunch. Today’s guest @games_nick is no stranger to us at Avalaunch and is someone we’ve had the fortune of collaborating with for the better part of a year now. “Nicky Games” is a crypto and games veteran, and one of the driving forces behind Bold Point. Welcome Nick, good to have you with us today. How are you?

    Nick | Bold Point

I’m good! Thank you for invitation today. Hello everyone and I’m glad to be here for the second time

    Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch

Yes, you are a survivor. 😀Let’s begin with some introductions. Please, tell us a little bit about yourself and how your journey ended up with you being part of the Bold Point team?

    Nick | Bold Point

Sure. I have become a part of gamedev since Nvidia around seventeen years ago. After Nvidia I started an IT management and consulting career, working in that direction for 5 years mostly in the Telecommunication industry.

In 2014 I co-founded a company Creagames Ltd. having good network connections within game dev industry after working for Nvidia for 4 years. As Creagames we reached more than 6M registered users in 2018. Since that year, I have been actively looking for promising crypto projects to invest during early stages. At the same time I studied for EMBA at HULT London Business School.

I have been interested in crypto for a long time and have been integrating DeFi projects into my portfolio for at least 3 active years. Early 2021 I started to lead brand new Game Fi project YAY Games which has become a decentralized GameFi ecosystem for B2B and B2C, focusing on Play-2-earn, NFTs, and DeFi.

The ecosystem consists of synergized projects: ZEUS (IGO launchpad), LOOT (Gaming NFT Marketplace), and multiple smart-contract boxed solutions, like “Game Fi Core” made by YAY and BP Labs.

Almost same time as starting YAY Games I started leading Bold Point project

    Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch

You’re certainly well suited for the job.

Kudos. In a few words, can you introduce the project: what Bold Point is about and how does it compare to the current landscape?

    Nick | Bold Point

Bold Point is an NFT-based role-playing game built exclusively on Avalanche that offers fun and competitive experience.

The free-to-earn approach combined with an easy-to-learn principle lowers the entry barrier for gamers, while advanced earning mechanics and hard-to-master gameplay makes Bold Point appealing for well-known gaming guilds and crypto-savvy enthusiasts.

Of course supported by YAY Ecosystem, Bold Point offers its audience native integration with LOOT Marketplace and YAY Loyalty Program. Moreover, the project gives power back to the community by implementing DAO and allowing $BPT holders to affect core gameplay.

    Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch

Free-to-earn is refreshing given the state of gamefi right now. Good on you. What are some of the main features that make Bold Point unique?

    Nick | Bold Point

Definitely it’s DAO Mechanics: the community will be able to vote on the change of different classes’ characteristics, items, and other objects paraments like dungeons raid bosses rewards scheme in a completely transparent and decentralized manner which could truly affect core gameplay.

Next is “GameFi Core”. The first GameFi protocol on the Avalanche network developed by BP Labs primarily for Bold Point. After numerous partners approached us with similar requests, we decided to make it available to the entire community.

    Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch

got excited there. I don’t think you were finished. My apologies

    Nick | Bold Point

Thanks to the open-source structure of the product, game developers and GameFi product owners can create any game in several iterations and manage all related processes at the blockchain level in a single smart contract.

This product helps complement Avalanche’s blockchain infrastructure and standardize operations in GameFi projects. The product allows all interactions inside blockchains to be open, reliable, and straightforward. It also has an ability to be integrated into existing DeFi solutions: DAO management, profile and asset sales on NFT marketplaces.

So, while developing Bold Point we developed this unique product which is a part of Bold Point now, that will help other Game Fi developers to build on Avalanche.

Also in-game farming pool will be available on a listing day. The BPT-AVAX pair will be added after the DEX Listing, and users will be able to check the current farming yield and rewards on the Bold Points website

And of course LOOT, YAY Games native NFT Marketplace, will be available for Bold Point with the following game update before the DEX listing.

    Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch

Nice to see the farming go live with the launch. I think that’s a good move. Now…onto my next question — One interesting aspect which to me makes Bold Point stand out as an RPG game is the sheer number of play dynamics possibilities, from in-game farming, battle system, quests and so on. How do you envision this expansive interaction network to help with achieving the project’s goal?

    Nick | Bold Point

The answer is simple here. This expansive interaction network allows to plan and implement numerous $BPT token utility scenarios which are vital for the long-term success of the project. It makes the game attractive for well-known Guilds as well as regular players.

    Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch

Short and sweet. For anybody reading up about Bold Point, it would become obvious that the game is set around the free to earn model. Can you expand on this for us, what it means for players and how they might benefit from it?

    Nick | Bold Point

Bold Point is designed to bring blockchain gaming to a large mainstream audience. To begin, prospective gamers are not required to have any knowledge of crypto to play and the game makes a distinction between crypto users and non-users. Simply choosing the “I am new to crypto,” option will direct players through the necessary steps.

Given that the overwhelming majority of people are largely illiterate when it comes to cryptocurrencies, Bold Point aims to educate, utilizing a digitized crypto knowledge base to aid newer users wishing to familiarize themselves and onboard the blockchain.

A vital differentiator for Bold Point is a relatively groundbreaking game model. Play-to-earn games typically require an initial, sometimes sizable investment in order to gain meaningful entry. Bold Point is both free-to-play and play-to-earn, meaning gamers will be able to start earning from the very start without the need to put up any sizeable capital upfront.

    Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch

I think you’ve answered that question once before 😀Very wall stated. BPT is at the center of the economy driving this epic game ecosystem. Can you give an overview of the token mechanics, including why players need to hold this token and what are its benefits?

    Nick | Bold Point

Sure. I prepared some slides about that, did it in a rush, so do not blame me for the quality of the pictures:

This is the very first build economy cycle we will release this week

    Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch

We don’t judge here at Avalaunch and that pic looks good Sir.

    Nick | Bold Point

I elaborated how it actually works in YT video interview which should be available soon

And this is a high-level scheme which included all types of users we want to be satisfied by the game economy. Regular players, investors and the guild owners and guild community.

    Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch

In the way of experts helping with the vision of the project, YAY Games is at center. How does having YAY Games as a partner benefit Bold Point, and distinguish it from a potential rival in the space?

    Nick | Bold Point

The definition and role of YAY Games is not a partner but a next door company as well as Indacoin which belongs to the same Holding and exists under one roof.

Bold Point and YAY Games are sharing the development resources from the same pool, sharing expertise, financial support, partners network and so on. This allows us to invest in R & D and create sub-divisions like YAY Labs and BP Labs.

For now we have two development teams with 18 and 12 team members working on YAY Ecosystem and Bold Point Projects. Each developer may be involved by managers or CTO to any development stream if the project requires his\her expertise.

    Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch

Speaking of partnerships, among YAY Games and others, Avalanche is also part of the supporting system for Bold Point. How does this help with the vision of the project, considering that Bold Point is a game released on its native chain? Are there any other partnerships on the way that will help with achieving Bold Point’s vision?

    Nick | Bold Point

No offense to other partners, but Avalaunch and Avalabs are the most valuable partners for Bold Point now and for YAY Games in the past.

We’re receiving real-time support almost 24\7 in terms of tokenomics revision, technical advice, introductions to the partners and so on.

We’re trying to be the same for our partners, the smaller companies, trying to learn and support them and taking the same approach but Avalanche for us is just another scale regarding deep expertise in fundamentals and abilities in assistance.

    Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch

What does the Roadmap look like? What are the key milestones players and token holders are to look forward to?

    Nick | Bold Point

This is a high-level roadmap for the project without detailed explanation of what exactly will be included in each game build update. It will be elaborated in the game-related articles soon

    Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch

What do you see as the main drivers that would help Bold Point scale to the masses? Have there been any active undertakings on this front to date?

    Nick | Bold Point

It’s a free-to-play approach with a transparent step-by-step onboarding process and no significant initial spending to start play.

Also as mentioned above, easy-to-learn hard-to-master gameplay is really attractive and this shouldn’t be underestimated. The new generation of Game Fi projects must be focused on the “Play” part not on “Earn” — this is my personal way of thinking which is deeply reflected in the core game mechanics.

    Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch

Final question before we move on to the Twitterati, the CT, the Twitterverse as it were…What is your overall view about the play to earn games in the crypto space, do you see Bold Point taking a spot among these top games?

    Nick | Bold Point

As advisor for Game Fi projects I have a tight pipeline of projects requesting advisory service and I have to read and learn about each of them in detail.

From that source I see how many projects are trying to build the real prototypes, the real games with interesting gameplay, advanced token utilization scenarios with an ability to put significant resources to implement all ambitions they have.

In 2022 the trend is intended to shift the perception of GameFi projects from primitive apps to sophisticated games, and with Avalaunch support, this goal becomes much more realistic. So we’re competing now with the next-gen projects, not the current ones.

    Twitter Questions

@AndyToshi_cryp asks — I read in your blog that to play in Bold Point I will need to build an army, but really how much will it cost me to build one? Can a full NFT army really be compared? If so, what will its cost be?

    Nick | Bold Point

At the very first release version there would be two types of NFT assets: Potions and Chests. Next release will bring Gear and Resources. On the next stages custom Army units will be also available to buy from the marketplace, but I can’t say the cost for custom Army units now.

For the first few months Army units wouldn’t be NFTs and would be free to use as a part of gameplay

@Cryptoman785 — After going through the tokenomics I could see you have a major allocation towards incentive and staking rewards so what is the reason behind it? Also what is the token allocation for Ecosystem Development mean and how will it be used?

    Nick | Bold Point

We plan to use the Ecosystem Growth category the same way as BP Labs — to build the products which definitely have relation to the game, the part of its architecture but not related to the gameplay process itself. Like NFT Marketplace LOOT or Game Fi Core.

We also planned in-game economics in the way to make the game attractive for the regular players as well as well-know guilds and we tried to meet their requirements for the in-game economy cycle based on other games experience.

@cryptotrung — Could you tell us why Bold Point required the services of YAY Games for the creation and development of its game?

    Nick | Bold Point

As I mentioned YAY and Bold Point are sharing one development team and other resources like financial support, partnership network etc. It allowed us, for example, to spend resources experimenting with the Bold Point genre and develop more deep connections between the game and YAY ecosystem products.

@Hasnain06976827 — You said bold_point is designed to empower the #GameFi ecosystem based in #Crypto and #NFT without risking your capital. If the platform is free for all, how do you generate revenue from your project for development?

    Nick | Bold Point

The revenue would be generated by buying pressure for $BPT token, BUT I wanted to separate the project success from the global market trends, so we will be able to get revenue from LOOT as standalone product and Game Fi Core as SaaS cost effective solution for third-party companies which was developed during Bold Point development process. I elaborated that in more details in YT interview.

@Sammy123vn — Why did Bold Point choose Avalanche as their main network? What new opportunities will the Bold Point players and community have as a result of this integration?

    Nick | Bold Point

For our dev team it was an easy decision to choose Avalanche network, they love the consensus algorithm Snowball that makes it possible to unite classic and Nakamoto consensuses which lead to tiny commission and extremely fast speed.
Also Avalanche finalize transactions without waiting confirmations which lead to average tx time less than a sec. You know, after such experience it’s hard to look for other blockchain networks.

I also never seen such level of support and willing to assist in terms of solving any types of technical questions from Avalabs directly or from wide Avalanche community.

Bold Point X Avalaunch: IDO Announcement

GameFi, play-to-earn, learn-to-earn, guilds and the litany of buzzwords beginning to populate the world of crypto is not an accident. Gaming, a juggernaut of an industry, valuated at 200 billion and rising, is migrating onto the blockchain. Avalanche, with its near-instant finality, low network fees, and largely forthcoming subnets is clearly becoming a destination for the most ambitious and forward-looking games coming to market.

Avalaunch has the fortune of knowing innumerable game developers and projects dedicated to expediting what is now an inevitability — the mass exodus of value from companies to contributors and players. Among the projects we’ve known for some time, Bold Point is perhaps our longest-standing relationship. From idea to inception, we have followed their path closely and have seen their dedication to building on Avalanche come to fruition. As a fitting end to a private journey comes a new beginning with a public launch; and Avalaunch is proud to announce Bold Point as our next IDO.

    Project Overview

At its core, Bold Point is an NFT-based game where every character, item, and achievement reward is tokenized and represented by an NFT. Via an in-game marketplace, gamers will be able to transparently buy, sell, loan, collect, and even trade a variety of NFTs. It is also possible to craft items by burning the native BPT token, allowing players to generate the rarest and strongest NFT items.

NFTs are implemented to the core game mechanics in the forms of potions, amulets, jewelry, and other artifacts necessary to survive multiple waves of attacks in the PVE mode and get a substantial bonus in farming. A player’s acumen, skill, and acquired knowledge are required to master Bold Point gameplay: turn-based combat is highly strategic and fast-paced, forcing a player to make a decision within 20 seconds.

The game is intended to be accessible for everyone, not requiring a sizable investment in order to earn. Bold Point inherits the best practices from such well-known Auto-Battle Chess representatives as Auto Chess (Extremely popular Dota 2 Mode), Teamfight Tactics, and Hearthstone Battlegrounds, prioritizing players’ engagement and user experience. Bold Point’s model offers economic incentives, without having to invest thousands to start competing, making the game itself a pioneer in the free-to-earn field.

The world of gaming is slowly but surely merging with the crypto industry. The premise of having virtual economies built on the blockchain allows the contributors of value to the game and players alike to generate income and gain transparent ownership of their in-game items through NFTs.

    Education For Adoption

Bold Point is both free-to-play and play-to-earn, meaning gamers will be able to start earning from the very start without the need to put up any capital upfront.

    Updates

The game has been worked on for some time now and is developmentally quite far along compared to many competing projects. Recently, an update was published outlining some of what lies ahead beginning with farming.

    • Farming will be available on listing day. The BPT-AVAX pair will be added after the DEX Listing, and users will be able to check the current farming yield and rewards on the Bold Points website.
    • Early entrants will realize favorable yields
    • The mechanism will be similar to the one implemented in the YAY Platform. Players who survive invasions will have increased rewards.

    Loot

LOOT, YAY Games native NFT Marketplace, will be available for Bold Point gamers, players can stock up with mana and healing potions — buy Boxes and open them. Users who purchased Boxes during the Initial NFT Offering (INO) will be able to open their chests. Rewards from open Boxes will go directly to in-game accounts.

    GameFi Core

“GameFi Core” is the first GameFi protocol on the Avalanche network developed by BP Labs primarily for Bold Point. After numerous partners approached us with similar requests, we decided to make it available to the entire community.

In short, “GameFi Core” is the founding block of GameFi space for your game.

    Advantages:

    – A new protocol exclusively developed by our team, with no equal on the market;

    – Universal and flexible architecture. Can be used to tokenize ANY game;

    – Open-source and audited smart contracts;

    – Supports advanced protocol-level communication standards;

    – Support for updates during the ‘DeFi-LEGO’ life cycle;

    – Ability to be integrated into existing DeFi solutions: DAO management, profile and asset sales on NFT marketplaces.

    Core system Improvements

The main focus is to ensure that the game is running smoothly, thus developers are constantly reviewing and improving the code. The team seamlessly combines HQ 2D map with 3D characters to fit three-dimensional characters into an isometric location. Other areas of consistent improvement are sound effects and VFX.

    Closing Thoughts

Seeing a serious game project come together is both gratifying and daunting. Many crypto investors fail to recognize the truly monumental effort and thought that goes into any game. Bold Point is a long-standing relationship of Avalaunch’s and their alignment with Yay suggests that they have been able to sidestep many of the most common mistakes blockchain developers make. Their progress has been demonstrable over the course of many months and any discerning person interested in a given project will note the maturity of Bold Point’s offering. The demo is there for the taking and the MVP is live. The team continues to make strides and has published a number of updates and tweaks, demonstrating their mobility as developers and willingness to engage with a critical audience.

“Bold Point wouldn’t be the game we know without the top-notch expertise of our most valuable partners who literally became our friends — Mark and Dave from Avalaunch. From the very beginning of our collaboration with Mark and Dave we felt tangible support and inspiration, which are impossible to overestimate.” — Bold Point Team

    Coming to Avalaunch: April 2022

Avalaunch is always working to secure the best and the brightest projects coming to Avalanche. Though it is not always visible to the end user, there is a relationship that has been cultivated over months and will continue long past the launching of a given project.

As many have noted, Avalaunch does not typically publish a schedule of upcoming IDOs. This is done to protect prospective projects when things leading to a launch can be very fluid; typically requiring the coordination and cooperation of many parties. Delays, for example, can be requested in advance or unanticipated with both circumstances having potentially zero reflection on the readiness of a given project. There are myriad scenarios that need to be contended with and Avalaunch always tries to support and be flexible.

In recent weeks, the lineup of forthcoming launches projects has shaped up nicely and we wanted to give the community a preview of some of the confirmed sales coming to Avalaunch. Please follow the project’s socials and join their communities for announcements about exact dates.

The following list represents what we believe are some of the strongest, most interesting and useful projects being built on Avalanche today who are ready for their IDO. We look forward to educating our community about why we think there are vital additions to the Avalanche ecosystem.

    So, without further ado…

    Snail Trail

Snail Trail is an NFT based auto racing game where players place their Snails in competitive races and win rewards. Players can own, optimize, reproduce, and race with their Snails. Among the first play-to-earn racing game on the Avalanche ecosystem, using NFTs as game assets, users acquire unique snails to compete in races, mint more snails, and earn AVAX. Much like a human, every snail has unique genes with in-game systems allowing for billions of different genetic sequences, multiple generations, and rare species.

    Metaderby

MetaDerby is a horse racing and breeding inspired metaverse where anyone can earn tokens through skilled gameplay and contribute to building the MetaDerby-verse. In the MetaDerby-verse, users will tap into the long historical relationship between humans and horses.

Horse racing is one of the most ancient of all sports and its basic premise — to identify which horse is the fastest over a set course — has been unchanged since at least classical antiquity.

Meanwhile, the history of horse breeding goes back millennia, with one of the earliest people known to document the breedings of their horses being the Bedouin of the Middle East—the breeders of the Arabian horse.

With the advent of mechanical forms of transportation, the century old relationship humans have had with our horses dissipated. Slowly and gradually, the enjoyment of horse racing and the knowledge of horse breeding became relegated only to a select few.

With the possibilities of blockchain, NFT, tokens, and the advent of a global play-to-earn community, Metaderby has set out to create a metaverse where humans can reconnect with our ancient friends and celebrate this unique relationship.

    Bold Point

Bold Point is an NFT-based game where every character, item, and achievement can be tokenized and represented by unique Non-Fungible Tokens. Through the in-game marketplace, gamers are able to transparently buy, sell, loan, or collect a variety of different NFTs. It is also possible to craft items by burning BPT or YAY tokens; allowing players to generate the rarest and strongest NFT items.

To truly excel, players will need to leverage their abilities and learnings to battle against each other in the competitive multiplayer mode (PVP). Muster all your courage and participate in tournaments with big prize pools (Gold PvP) or in the Bold Point Arena, where teams of players are pitted against each other until only one is left standing.

Bold Point’s groundbreaking play-to-earn model offers plenty of economic incentives without exorbitant entry costs thus allowing players from all around the world to monetize their gaming experiences through healthy competition.

    Snake City

It all started from a lab in the jungle Amazon. Scientists had discovered a substance inside the snake’s brain which would be able to give human-like intelligence to the snake when combining that substance with a man-made substance. The intelligence and the size of the snake had developed at an unexpected speed which concerned the scientists. They had to come up with the decision to cancel the research and to kill all of the snakes as well as destroy all the samples because of the threatening risks.

After an incident caused by a huge storm in the jungle, some of the snakes had escaped out of the lab. Eventually these giant super intelligent snakes had taken over to dominate and occupy most of the world. This war ensued to retrieve the land which was occupied by the snakes, however, scientists went on to discovered that they could completely terminate the snakes by collecting Uranium, Botanium, Neganium, Motanium in those lands where those intelligent snakes with biggest size were living in the deep Atlantis Ocean, Sahara desert, Northern Europe jungles and mountains in Tibet.

Players join the game as a warrior to fight in the wars against the snakes in the metaverse to help humans take back the domination.

  • Launchpad Update: XAVA Points, Automation & Booster Round

Launchpad Update: XAVA Points, Automation & Booster Round

At Avalaunch, we continue to iterate and move forward as part of a collective movement to see early-stage, public fundraising become a staple and sophisticated financial service product that is open to all.

To date, we have innovated and have contributed to a notable shift. Largely gone are the oversubscribed IDOs where players fight for scraps. We are seeing greater parity between private and public rounds, increasing price uniformity, strategic vesting for public participants, among other improvements. These trends were simply not present before Avalaunch and we have worked for over a year behind the scenes to help all players understand the value of honoring community at the level of the public sale.

From a business development perspective, the progress has been excellent. Our base chain Avalanche is attracting truly special teams and projects—the likes of which the blockchain has yet to see—that previously did not find the space stable enough to build on. Now, they are coming now in droves.

Avalaunch looks forward to the coming months and being able to launch a slate of projects that are unprecedented in ambition. As the time draws near, there will be added features and functionality that offer greater flexibility and ease-of-use for those who wish to partake.

Today, we introduce a few of these, with many more to come.

    AVAX Collateral

With this new set of features, we have included two automations (Auto-Buy & the Booster Round) that will require a deposit of AVAX to execute successfully.

The deposit modal can be accessed through the Automations tab under the Accounts page, but users will also be prompted to deposit collateral with predictive amount recommendations during registration as well.

During an active sale, you can check the automations tab to make sure that you have met the recommended collateral, which will be based on your current stake and predicted allocation.

    Allocation Auto-Buy

Auto-Buy is an Avalaunch automation that will allow a user’s allocation to be automatically purchased during the IDO sale window. When enabled, a user will no longer be required to be present during the sale to purchase their guaranteed allocation, as long as they have deposited the recommended collateral.

Right now, the recommended collateral will be 2x your predicted IDO allocation. In order to ensure you receive your full available allocation, please deposit the recommended amount.

    How Does Auto-Buy Work?

Auto-Buy can will become active during an IDO period and can be enabled at any time up to the beginning of a sale, including after you have registered. Once the sale begins, you cannot disable the Auto-Buy automation.

You can locate the Auto-Buy modal under your Automations tab.

In addition to no minimums and guaranteed allocations, Avalaunch is the first launchpad to offer the type of stress-free user experience which allows for passive participation in an IDOs.

Your participation in an Avalaunch sale can start and end with registration. With our new set of automations, our IDOs are now not only guaranteed, but can be entirely “hands off.”

    XAVA Points (XP)

XAVA Points (XP) are a representational unit of XAVA that can be allocated toward your stake for any IDO. Unlike normal XAVA, they cannot be purchased or traded, but are earned across the platform by staking XAVA and through various actions like locking XAVA and community-driven tasks.

    Staking XAVA

For every XAVA staked in the allocation staking pool, you will receive 1 XAVA Point. These points don’t represent any additional benefit beyond your normal XAVA, but are simply grouped with earned points for ease of use during IDOs.

    Earning Additional Points

Currently, the only way to earn extra XAVA Points beyond your stake is by locking your XAVA, however, there will be more ways to earn in the near future centered around continued participation and community engagement.

You can alway check your current XAVA points and history under the XAVA Points tab.

    XAVA Locking

A user will now be able to lock their XAVA for a predefined term (3,6, and 12 months), for a multiplier on that XAVA, in the form of XAVA Points.

    How does XAVA locking work?

When you lock your XAVA for a predefined term, you’ll receive additional allocation power in the form of XAVA Points that can be used toward any IDO.

There are 3 locking terms you can participate in, each with a set multiplier:

    • 3 months → Receive 1.3x XP Multiplier
    • 6 months → Receive 1.5x XP Multiplier
    • 12 months → Receive 2x XP Multiplier

    Example Scenario:

You lock 1,000 XAVA for 3 months.

When locked: You will have 1,300 XAVA Points which you can allocate toward IDOs. The additional 300 XP in this case are the XAVA Points you earned via the multiplier.

When unlocked: You will receive your 1,000 XAVA back, and the 300 XAVA Points will expire.

    Video Tutorial:

    XAVA Locking FAQ

What is the minimum you can lock? The minimum lock is 1 XAVA.

What is the maximum you can lock? There is no maximum you can lock.

How often can you lock XAVA? You can lock XAVA or add to you lock at any time; however once you submit a lock, there is a 20 minute pause before you can lock more.

What if I want to unlock my XAVA before my selected lock term ends? You cannot unlock your XAVA until your selected lock term ends.

    Booster Round

Historically, there have always been unsold tokens in our IDOs as a function of our guaranteed allocations. If a user’s allocation is guaranteed to be waiting for them during the sale, there is always a chance that they don’t show up, leaving a remainder.

For our past 19 IDOs, we have purchased these unsold tokens at our cost and airdropped them to sale participants. While we felt this was a reasonable and generous solution, there has always been demand for a “last chance” offering of the leftovers.

The Booster Round is our response to this request.

    How Does it Work?

The Booster Round is an opt-in final round which will allow stakers to pick up additional allocation after their guaranteed allocation in the Staking Round. Enabling will become active during an IDO period and can be enabled at any time up to the beginning of a sale, including after you have registered.

This round, like auto-buy, is automated and there is no need for a user to be present during it.

You can locate the Booster Round modal under your Automations tab.

In order to be eligible for the Booster Round, a user must first opt-in before and deposit the recommended collateral before the IDO begins. In addition to the collateral, you will be required to deposit AVAX for gas fees. This is to ensure that the transaction executes and the automation is 100% reliable.

Once the Staking Round has concluded, the application will begin to automatically scan the list of participants that have opted-in, sorted by stake, with the highest stake first.

If a user has opted in and deposited collateral, it will automatically purchase up to 1/2 their allocation in the staking round, with a hard cap of $300. No user will receive more than this, regardless of their stake.

If a staker has not enabled this feature or not deposited collateral, they will be skipped. If the user has not deposited enough collateral to receive the maximum Booster Round allocation available to them, whatever collateral is available will be used, and the application will move down the list.

Why Not “First Come First Serve?”

The Avalaunch application was designed to remove the stress, confusion and need to be first from the IDO process. A round where the person who was the fastest or cranked their gas the highest “wins” would be antithetical to all of the design choices we have made to date. While we understand the desire, we simply prefer a more orderly solution.

With the collateral requirements and hard caps in place, we anticipate that the the Booster Round will allow for hundreds of participants to receive additional sale allocation, without sacrificing any of our core design principles.

    Wrapping Up

With the latest round of features, we believe we move closer to the most user-friendly, intuitive and balanced launchpad in any ecosystem. Guaranteed allocations, with no minimums, that can be purchased without even being present during the sale allow our users to focus on the projects we are helping launch, instead of the sale process itself.

Our goal is to strip away any artificial constriction of the sale process designed to create FOMO, and instead create authentic excitement about the product, team and their future potential in the Avalanche ecosystem. As always, we thank you for your continued support of the Avalaunch community and its mission to bring great teams, building great things to Avalanche.
