Dragon Crypto AMA #2 — Technical Deep Dive with Sam (Project Lead), Paul (Project Manager) & Neo…
On 7/23/2022 at 5:00 p.m. (PST), an AMA session was held on Avalaunch Telegram with some of Dragon Crypto Gaming’s core team — DGC’s Project Lead, Sam, Project Manager, Paul, and Senior Developer & UX, Neo, for our second AMA to cover the technical underpinnings of the project. The focus of this AMA will be the underlying tech, development and roadmap.
Below we present to you an excerpt from AMA with questions and answers.
Dave| Avalaunch
Welcome to our epic sequel AMA with Dragon Crypto. Today we are joined by an elite duo in @samthewise78, founder extraordinaire and @neothon, a Senior Developer. I can say that in my months of knowing and working with you all, Dragon has been a longstanding work in progress and it’s been great to see you all continue to evolve. You are Avalanche native OG’s and very welcome guests, so let us get right into it.
It is a pleasure to have you with us today. Can you please tell us who you are and how you ended up as a team member on this highly ambitious project?
Sam|Dragon Crypto
Hello all and thank you for the warm welcome!
I’m the Lead for Dragon Crypto Gaming.I have been a passionate RPG gamer most of my life. I started programing at a really young age and started building computer games as a hobby.
I had the idea for a blockchain game early on, when there was hardly any games that had true gameplay that I enjoyed.
So I founded Dragon Crypto Gaming, I combined my passion for RPG games and crypto into one platform with the help of the team.
We’ve been chatting and working together for a long time and I extremely happy to have a well rounded team of professionals, with decades of experience in software development, project management and marketing.
We are all passionate gamers and hard workers with the drive to see this game throughDo you want to introduce yourself @neothon ? 😊
Neothon|Dragon Crypto
Hey everyone! So glad to be here 🙂
Hi, my name is Neothon and I am one of founding members and of the team. I handle various stuff from coding full stack, to contracts, to UX wherever needed.
I have been prodiving product solutions since the last 18 years and currently ran an e-commerce venture before coming into crypto.
As Sam mentioned, we have been chatting and working together for a long time and our thought process aligned perfectly. when Sam came up with the idea of the game, we all jumped on it instantly. Being gamers, this was the perfect opportunity to create a really outstanding game on the blockchain 🙂
Dave| Avalaunch
Good to have you both and a long time coming some might say. There is a core team of seven that got this whole adventure started — how did you all meet, and come together to work on Dragon Crypto Games?
Sam|Dragon Crypto
We all were degens exploring DeFi early last year and connected with each other through this.
Being nerds and gamers, we had similar interests and thought processes which helped build a very strong understanding among ourselves.
This is when I pitched my vision of a RPG game on the blockchain.
It clicked with all of the team instantly and they were more than happy to join in and work on it. Blockchain games were mostly just decked up UI for defi and we all agreed that an actual fun game was still missing.
We decided we will change that with our focus on an actual on chain game that is fun to play foremost. That’s how the road to Dragon Haven began last June/July.Dave| Avalaunch
Good stuff Sam. I think we met you not long after. Was a different time to be sure. As a digital universe for gaming, Dragon Crypto Games has taken a different approach in the sense of having already developed two different games: The Legend of Aurum Draconis and Tiny Dragons, what were some of the challenges in completing this first milestone?
Neothon|Dragon Crypto
Of course the tiny dragons were the first nft gaming experience offered by dragon crypto gaming these are a set of 1000 dragon nfts, they’re very cute and were offered as a way to play our first game tiny dragons arena, where you could battle these dragons to earn token rewards.
Dragons Cryptos main aim from the start was to build a strong engaged community. Alot of Defi projects were rugging and we wanted to show our good intent and promise to deliver a quality game.
At the start the team funded the project and minted all DCAU to the community besides some put to the side for game rewards to help show that we were here because we are passionate about our project and not just trying to make a quick dollar.
Dave| Avalaunch
I think your history in Avalanche and the community building of actual players will serve you all well. This is appreciated as most teams tend to launch tokens a little prematurely and try to ride sentiment.
What are the game mechanics that make the platform unique? As a side question, how does the play to earn mechanic work and how does it link to the Hero NFT marketplace?
Sam|Dragon Crypto
To play The Legend of Aurum Draconis, players must hold a Dragon Crypto Hero NFT, which will be their in-game character.
In line with Dragon Crypto Gaming’s ethos of making games that are widely accessible, these NFTs are pegged at $100 on initial mint, making them much more affordable than other GameFi projects. All in game actions will also be pegged to the $USD, with the majority being injected back into game reward and a significant amount being burnt. Creating more of a self-sustaining economy, rather than just printing tokens.
This burning mechanism and the transactions being pegged to the $USD mean that if the price of our tokens go down a higher percentage will be burnt which will have a positive effect on the price of the token.
This all links in with royalties in our in-game marketplace too.We use a dual token economy; $DCAR is the currency required to purchase crafting materials and actions, land plots, and can be staked to earn a share of platform revenues.
$DCAU is required to purchase Dragon Crypto Hero NFTs as well as to perform certain essential in-game actions such as healing and resting to recover your turns.
We’re not stopping there; $DCAR will, in the near future, become the native gas token for the Dragon Crypto Gaming Avalanche subnet and both $DCAU and $DCAR will play a key role in future game offerings.
Dave| Avalaunch
Boom. Kudos to keeping that entry cost fixed at $100 and for DCAR being the real economic driver. I see DCAU as an entry point which you did to establish a community presence and reasonable entree into the game. That makes a lot of sense. Thanks for that comprehensive answer…moving on…As I understand, Dragon Crypto Aurum, the second build out phase of this project, unlike the first game released in phase one will have a DAO structure. How decentralized will this structure be? What level of decentralization do you aim to achieve?
Neothon|Dragon Crypto
We thought a lot about this and this won’t be a DAO in the actual sense. The community will play a big role in the growth and future of the project, be an essential part of the entire journey. They will get to vote on new features and various aspects of the entire game. But at the end of the day, mission critical features will still be decided by the team.
Dave| Avalaunch
Organized governance with subject matter experts weighing in more heavily. I like that approach as DAOs tend towards chaos and not enough individual effort. How much of the current phase, phase 3 or the Argenti phase has been developed so far?
Sam|Dragon Crypto
Phase 3 has been going as per plan, we try to keep flexible as well and change as we get more feedback and players onboard to create the best experience possible.
Our main game, The Legend of Aurum Draconis has been improving daily and I’m very happy with our progress, especially looking at how far we’ve come. It’s currently in BETA and playable, right now for all of our Hero NFT holders. We’ve already got initial versions of crafting and gathering which $DCAR(argenti) is a major part of.
We are in the process of launching the mainnet version in August.I can’t wait for it to release on the mainnet for everyone to experience the magical land of Dragon Haven.
Dave| Avalaunch
Uhhh a magical land of Dragons? Count me in. 😁
What are the plans for expanding this current production into a fully interoperable metaverse? Are there any plans to expand the current economy to other EVM chains beyond AVAX?
Neothon|Dragon Crypto
We have a huge road map but right now we are completely focused on getting the game ready for mainnet. Interoperability has always been a core pillar of our game. The blockchain standards ensure that this is possible and this is why we believe that blockchain is going to change the $220B gaming industry landscape completely.
Having blockchain technologies in the core of our game allows us to collaborate with various other NFTs and have them as utilities within our game.
How awesome it is that we can invite our partner projects into Dragon Haven and go on adventures together with their NFTs? 😄
Once our current game goal is achieved, we can then focus on subnets and cross chain operability 🙂
Dave| Avalaunch
Nice. I think I know the answer to the following question but a plug for our base chain doesn’t hurt — What attracted the team to develop the Dragon Crypto Games on the Avalanche chain?
Sam|Dragon Crypto
Stable, secure, never had a dropped tx and tons of room to grow, the tech has proven this to me as a daily user of it. It’s expandable, subnets and updates are also a welcome addition for any GameFi project, adding even further utility to our native tokens.
Besides the technical aspects of the Avalanche network, the community has been very welcoming, amazing projects have been there offering support and advice from the beginning and it has shown us that we are stronger together rather than all competing.
Dave| Avalaunch
Amen. The instant finality thing still shocks and amazes me. People will get it in due course. Glad to be here with you all — How long do you expect the main building phase to last such that Dragon Crypto Games is hitting the current team’s vision?
Neothon | DCG 🐲 (Will never DM you), [23/07/2022 20:27]
haha yeah, the instant finality bit about Avalanche is why I love it!At present we are at the peak building stage. The team is churning our road map features and improving the game on a daily basis. I just came to this AMA after pushing another update to the repo haha
Once we achieve a stage where we have a stable version of the game with all the things planned, we can then focus on the next step of the roadmap. But be rest assured that the building phase isn’t going to end. The game is an ever evolving product and our goal is to keep iterating and improving it, making it as enjoyable as possible and one of the landmark games on any blockchain 🙂
Dave| Avalaunch
Assuming you are done 😜Final question which isn’t really a question but we are moving to the Twitter portion of our program next so let us leave no turn unstoned (see what I did there?)…Are there any last thoughts you’d like to share with our community?
Sam|Dragon Crypto
Haha, yes lets leave no turn unstoned!
We have been tirelessly working on the game for the past so many months and cannot wait for everyone to try it out on the mainnet. It’s so exciting to see our players come in and enjoy the game.
Being gamers we know that a game should be super fun to play and that is what we set out to do.
An immersive RPG game with blockchain tech at it’s core allows our players to own their life in the ecosystem. We have amazing things planned next like land ownership where players can set up their own marketplaces or crafting shops.
We’ve talked to a lot of veterans and professionals in the space on our tokenomics and game economy, there’s a lot we’ve done differently which we have done to solve major problems in the GameFi space and we’re not stopping.
This is just the beginning!
Dave| Avalaunch
We have indeed just begun but here’s a sobering thought — You have successfully. navigated the first leg of this incredible journey with relative ease and your dignity is still intact. Now it is time for questions from the twitterati who take residence in the twitterverse.
Twitter Questions
First up comes from @GarretMei who wants to know — what are the initial requirements to play in project? Is it possible for players to earn from Free-to-Play?
Neothon|Dragon Crypto
Thanks for the question Garret.
The only requirement is that you need to own a hero NFT to actually play the game. Like you need a character to actually go on an adventure 🙂
The hero nft is your gateway into the world of Dragon Haven and explore the legend of Aurum Draconis.
We ensure our entry fees for the hero nft is always fixed at $100. We don’t have any free to play features at present but never say never.
Dave| Avalaunch
And now @nevano143 — Will you have any other DeFi features like staking, yield farm or NFT in the future?
Neothon|Dragon Crypto
adding to the previous one, we will indeed have some interesting programs though, like scholarships and guilds 🙂
Sam|Dragon Crypto
Great question, we believe there should also be passive ways of earning and a sync for earned tokens.
In saying that, what is a town of Dragon Haven without a bank?
Yes, we will have Grom’s Bank within our ecosystem which will be a vital part of our economy and have DeFi features, like profit sharing, staking and bonding NFTs to help build our own platform owned liquidity.Dave| Avalaunch
Nice. Here’s a softball but a good question for new peeps — @C_GMCKZ — Can we hold your NFTs in the MetaMask Wallet?
Neothon|Dragon Crypto
Yes, NFTs are inherently by nature owned by you and stay in your wallet. That is the whole reason we are so excited by blockchain gaming. It allows you to own your in-game assets, from characters to equipments and even consumables.
All the assets are NFTs and will be minted to your wallet 🙂 Everything is freely tradeable on our own in-game marketplace or any marketplace that supports NFTs.
Dave| Avalaunch
Although it’s been covered @AlphaMediad likes to be redundant and wants to know if — Can you tell me about your team’s history? Which areas are your team focusing on at the moment?
Sam|Dragon Crypto
We have a very diverse core team from all over the globe.
From seasoned developers, to experienced marketers and business development gurus.I keep telling everyone that with all the projects I have ever done, this is the best team I have ever worked with; I am the Head of Technology for a SAAS company so I’ve had a lot of experience in development both professionally and as my hobby, which makes me appreciate the team even more.
Everyone is equally pumped and give more than their 100% for everything we do.At present we are completely focused on building the stable mainnet version of our game, along with our marketing campaigns and creating strategic relationships across the entire ecosystem.
Dave| Avalaunch
Personally I both admire and am supicious of anyone that describes development as a “hobby.” 😀
I’d also like to highlight your developmental progress from a security standpoint. Just an editorial but it’s super important and often overlooked.
You all are very security-centric and Paladin is some of the best in a business where there are some serious shortcomings. That much I know — how was your final audit with them?
Warning: final question until the community goes ham with questions.
@tulong890 — Do you have any tutorials or some YouTube videos to make it easier for newcomers to understand this game?
Neothon|Dragon Crypto
Oh yes, our Audit report just came in. I will let @samthewise78 talk about the audit 🙂
Sam|Dragon Crypto
No problem, we’ve always been very concious about security and it has been a number 1 for us, especially after seeing things happen in Defi and being part of them when things get exploited.
So we’ve teamed up with Paladin and have just released our audit for the token which is part of the IDO, all contracts will be audited by them, with the game contracts in progress right now.
Dave| Avalaunch
Warning: final question until the community goes ham with questions.
@tulong890 — Do you have any tutorials or some YouTube videos to make it easier for newcomers to understand this game?
Neothon|Dragon Crypto
Thanks Sam! 🙂
Coming back to this question, we have our own YouTube channel led by our team mate Nick! We do live streams almost every week and record every small detail about the progress of our game. There is always a learning curve involved in any new game, especially RPG games. A lot of intricacies are usually present in a RPG game, like stats, crafting, blueprint, forging etc are there and hence a slight learning curve will always be there. But our mission has always been to have the best onboarding experience for new players. We have a very detailed onboarding wizard in game, hand holding new players in our ecosystem and of course very detailed youtube videos.
Most importantly we have such an amazing community! So many of our community members record their own game experience videos and do game streams. It’s just amazing. We wouldn’t be here today without our community! We love you all very much, thank you 🙂 ❤️
Oh and here is our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/DragonCryptoGaming
Go like, subscribe and don’t forget to press the bell icon haha 😉
Dave| Avalaunch
Looks like we did it. Well done guys and now you must face your own dragon in our community. @shahi297 you ready to take the training wheels off?
Telegram Questions
1 — @AlyseHudgens42 Are you afraid some day there will be another project with more innovative technology can replace your project ?
Sam|Dragon Crypto
Good question, that’s why we retain a very flexible base product, always keep researching the space, talk to professionals and consult with our community and why we won’t just stop with the base features. We’ll keep building and keep innovating, keeping our project relevant in to the future.
2 — @Darren_vega Do you have any Bug Bounty to check for weakness? In what way do you plan to make Your project more complete??
Sam|Dragon Crypto
Yes, we have a bug bounty program which we are running right now on our discord, players have already been rewarded with tokens for making reports.
3 — @Dennisjeffers89 Is there any multiplayer mode to play with my friends? And can I chat with them in game?❗️🔥
Neothon|Dragon Crypto
Very good question! We definitely have PVP mode on the roadmap. Our goal has always been to build a fun game. A game which isn’t social is always extra fun. We have planned a lot of collaborative stuff in game. PVP is one of them. 🙂
Chat is one of the most used in game features as per our analytics tool. 😄
4 — @isadora_moon What is your strategy to attract new users and investors to your project and keep them long term because Marketing is a central element for every project, so that everyone know the potential that a project can bring is vital to achieve the goals set?
Sam|Dragon Crypto
Yes absolutely, we’ll be rolling out a community focused group where users get a special status for working and helping promote us, an elite club of our hardest working community members. They’ll get rewarded with their own unique Hero that represents them as well as other benefits.
This alongside traditional marketing and a scholarship/guild system is a winning combo.5 — @Marilynn_mcdade As a project who based into blockchain-game , Will there be free play opportunities for players without NFTs ?,,🙏🙏
Neothon|Dragon Crypto
We are actually going to have some interesting features which will alow to get scholarships to play the game and various guilds which will alow you to rent heroes and play as well 🙂
Dave| Avalaunch
@samthewise78 and @neothon you have been mighty guests. Worthy of an encore but alas, we have completed both AMAs so if people want more, they will need to go do your discord. We very much look forward to your launch and the upcoming mainnet. I appreciate all you’ve done in making this a very community friendly launch and one worth watching. Take care.
We appreciate your time here today.

Dragon Crypto AMA #1 — Project Overview with Sam (Project Lead), Dan (Creative Content Manager)
On 7/21/2022 at 5:00 p.m. (PST), an AMA session was held on Avalaunch Telegram with some of DCG’s core team — Sam (Project Lead), Dan (Creative Content Manager) and Stefan (Marketing and Community Manager). The focus of this AMA was the business development, vision, road map, and post-IDO plans.
Below we present to you an excerpt from AMA with questions and answers.
Niki | Avalaunch
Hello everyone!
We’re excited to turn the lights back on in here with our first AMA with the Dragon Crypto Gaming team!
Today, we are joined by @samthewise78 (Project Lead) @heatengine (Marketing and Community Manager) and @Daniel_DragonFeeder (Creative Content).
Welcome guys! How are you?
Daniel|Dragon Crypto
Well thanks great to be here!
Heatengine|Dragon Crypto
Hello everybody! Very well, and you? Happy to be here!
Sam|Dragon Crypto
Hey, great thank you!
Niki | Avalaunch
Awesome! Well… let’s have some fun in the AMA. Shall we!?
Heatengine|Dragon Crypto
Let’s go!
Niki | Avalaunch
First, thank you for being here today to share about all the work Dragon Crypto Gaming has been doing the past year. But first…
Can we please start today’s conversation with an introduction of yourself?
Sam|Dragon Crypto
My name is Sam. I am the Lead developer and founder of Dragon Crypto Gaming.
I have been an avid gamer for most of my life, since I got my first 486 (if anyone remembers them!).
I started programming at around the same time and it became one of my favourite hobbies. My first attempt at a text based game was around 25 years ago. With Dragon Crypto Gaming, I combined my passion for RPG games and crypto into one platform with the help of the team.
We have a well rounded team of professionals with decades of experience in software development, project management and marketing.
We are all passionate gamers and quite frankly, nerds and are constantly working at getting to the top of GameFI spaceNiki | Avalaunch
How would you best describe Dragon Crypto Gaming?
What’s its vision and which challenges does it address?
Heatengine|Dragon Crypto
As gamers at heart, our team’s main goal is to offer a fun and fulfilling gaming experience on the blockchain. At present the main offerings from GameFi offer little true game play and are just idle set and collect farms, We want to have the depth to our games and show what web3 gaming can truly be. We believe we are pushing the boundaries of play and earn gaming by leveraging the global reach and limitless potential of Defi and delightful gameplay!
Niki | Avalaunch
How does Dragon Crypto Gaming position itself in the space of metaverse RPG play-to-earn gaming?
Who are your competitors?
Daniel|Dragon Crypto
We like to think we position ourselves at the forefront of the metaverse RPG movement, not only are we all avid gamers that have a long history of playing most of the classic (And a lot of not so classic) RPGs, but we have an actual game that is not only playable as a Beta right this instant, but is only weeks away from releasing on the main chain itself.
As for competitors, we like to think of the crypto RPG metaverse in the phrase “A rising tide lifts all boats”. So every game that comes to the metaverse space brings more interest and hype with it, which benefits all other games already here or planning to be here. More hype = more numbers = More money to go around.
But to give a bit less of a political answer, the obvious 2 competitors to mention would be DFK and Crabada, we plan to be next to these 2 titans of the Avax network.
Niki | Avalaunch
Can you pls give us a high-level overview of the structure underlying the legend of Aurum Draconis?
Sam|Dragon Crypto
The Legend of Aurum Draconis is an old-school fantasy, Play and Earn RPG.
Players are brought into the realm of Dragon Haven to seek their fortune, uncovering long-forgotten secrets and braving unknown dangers as they work their way to slay the golden dragon. It features a huge variety of enemy encounters and loot drops, detailed character customization and leveling, resource gathering and crafting mechanics, an in-game player-directed marketplace and much more.
Through combat, crafting and other in-game activities, your game characters can gain much-needed experience to defeat enemies of increasing difficulty and collect valuable loot.
As part of their combat strategy, players can choose from a plethora of powerful weapons, armor, and other equipment and essential items, which are all NFTs on the blockchain.
With the release of the land ownership system in the near future, players will be able to acquire land plots which they can design and build on and earn passive incomes.
To play The Legend of Aurum Draconis, players must hold a Dragon Crypto Hero NFT, which will be their in-game character, or even a team of them.
In line with Dragon Crypto Gaming’s ethos of making games that are widely accessible, these NFTs are pegged at $100 on initial mint, making them much more affordable than other GameFi / P2E NFTs which cost thousands of dollars. One of my personal favourite parts is our sustainable economy, where in-game spending as well as the marketplace put game rewards back in to the game economy.
Niki | Avalaunch
What were the principles behind adding such explorative maps like The Plains, The Mines, The Deep Forest and the Deadlands? How do they fit with the current narrative of this digital space?
Heatengine|Dragon Crypto
We are really looking at delivering an expansive world to our players. Each area will function as a value add to the game; for instance, the mines and deep wood will be used for collecting resources for crafting. This will be accomplished through skill-based mini-games, which adds another layer of entertainment to those playing.
Also, each area will act as a chapter of the main quest line. With each release, another area will be explored, unraveling the storyline towards the hero’s quest to slay the golden dragon.
Niki | Avalaunch
Dragon Crypto ecosystem seems to be powered by two tokens $DCAU and $DCAR, can you pls outline the difference between the two?
Daniel|Dragon Crypto
DCG uses a dual token economy $DCAR is the currency required to purchase crafting materials and actions, land plots, and can be staked to earn a share of platform revenues. $DCAU is required to purchase Dragon Crypto Hero NFTs as well as to perform certain essential in-game actions such as healing and resting to recover your turns. It doesn’t stop there; $DCAR will, in the near future, become the native gas token for the Dragon Crypto Gaming Avalanche subnet and both $DCAU and $DCAR will play a key role in future game offerings.
Niki | Avalaunch
Thanks for the breakdown — and the visual!
When will the staking for the $DCAR token become available — and what about the $DCAU token?
Sam|Dragon Crypto
Staking will go live with the launch of the game In August, Investors will be able to enter the game and go to Groms’s Bank on the world map, there they will be able to select a variety of Defi tools and farms for their DCAR.
DCAU will not have a farm as it is fully minted but will be able to be bonded through a NFT staking mechanism to earn DCAR.
Investors will also able to earn DCAU by staking DCAR through game revenue sharing.
Niki | Avalaunch
What are the plans for expanding the ecosystem beyond the current partnerships and backers, or even outside of these two verticals?
Heatengine|Dragon Crypto
At the moment, we are entirely focused on getting “The Legend of Aurum Draconis” live and running smoothly. Once this is all going well, we will start to explore our possibilities. Further, this will include subnets and cross-chain interoperability.
We will also partner with other projects to bring other games to the world of Dragon Haven and allow our heroes to explore different dimensions in other projects.
Niki | Avalaunch
What are the metrics of success that you use for The Legend of Aurum Draconis and Tiny Dragon NFTs, are there any plans for continuing with the growth of the project?
Daniel|Dragon Crypto
We launched 1000 Tiny dragons which sold out in 15 min and have run over 1000 matches in the Arena. We see this as a success for Tiny Dragons. We have big plans for Tiny Dragons with integration as a pet in the The Legend of Aurum Draconis that gives an extra power move in battle ,an updated Arena within the Aurum Draconis Game map. There will be updated battle mechanics and the introduction of partner NFTs from other projects. Also Tiny dragon genetic splicing and Tiny dragon adventures.
With The Dragon Crypto heroes the first 1000 sold out in under 3 min and the second series of 1000 sold out in 15 min We believe this shows a strong interest in the game and a successful NFT launch. The team has so many plans for the game and we are very excited!
The next development after the game release will be a land management system with players able to setup things such as marketplaces or a blacksmith to craft equipment. This will add to the game economy and allow further ways for players to engage and earn.
Niki | Avalaunch
What would you say the highlights of Dragon Crypto Gaming are from the year 2021? Would you have done anything different?
Sam|Dragon Crypto
Dragon Crypto started in the 3rd quarter of 2021 and it was all about setting the base for the entire ecosystem.
While we were working on creating the main game’s infrastructure, getting artwork designed and planning various strategies, we also launched our first token $DCAU along with our first mini game called Tiny Dragon Arena. $DCAU emissions started in this same year and Tiny Dragons were a huge hit with our early adopters.
In my opinion, our plan worked out exactly as we wanted when we started. The team grew with time and we on-boarded various skill sets needed to execute a premium quality product. I wouldn’t want to change anything 😊
Niki | Avalaunch
Scaling up like that is not always easy. Tremendous effort. Glad it all worked out as you planned 🙂
What are you most excited about for Dragon Crypto Gaming? Are there any first-hand insights that you can share with us today?
Heatengine|Dragon Crypto
I am most excited about the game’s future and how it will evolve from where we are. I wish I could peek into the future and see the fantastic world the team has built. Honestly, the team has loads of things planned, and apart from that, we see limitless possibilities for our game. We are holding a few secrets to unleash when the time comes. 👀
Sam|Dragon Crypto
I am really excited about our graphical overhaul, which we’re getting concept art done for right now. This will be a huge improvement as you’ll be able to see your character and equipment beautifully rendered on an all new map.
The land ownership system also makes me excited, as it adds even more utility for DCAR and more possibilities for the crafters out there, the only way to get items to build on your land is to craft them or buy them off the market after they’ve been put together by crafters. You’ll be able to make your mark on the land and even earn passive incomes by doing so.Niki | Avalaunch
Alright… we are done with this set of questions. Now, let’s move to some Twitter Questions. We picked 5 of the best. Here goes…
Twitter Questions
1 — @AmawinerChloe — Is this game suitable for crypto beginner gamers or does it only appeal to professional users?
Sam|Dragon Crypto
This game is suitable for any gamer with a basic knowledge of operating on a blockchain.
The game is designed in such a way so that blockchain interactions interfere the least amount so that you can enjoy the game, we’ve made a game with great gameplay, without being so complicated that you have to read a book just to get started playing.
Blockchain here is used to my personal opinion to make the game even better, rather than being tacked on, allowing our players to actually own what they play with. From heroes, equipment to even consumables. Everything is owned by you and can be freely traded in the open market.EDIT: our wiki which we are building up to help players learn:
https://load.fandom.com/wiki/The_Legend_of_Aurum_Draconis2 — @nicenice0001 — There are a lot of NFT card games out there for example — can you tell us how “DCGgamefi” differs from typical NFT card games and similar casual games?
Daniel|Dragon Crypto
The Legend of Aurum Draconis is not exactly a card game. Our goal is to build a retro themed, true RPG game on the blockchain. There are hero characters, you can create the party with the heroes you own, search for monsters in the plains. Fighting monsters gives you experiences and loot, which you can trade. You level up and manage your own stats, choose a path which can be from a warrior to a crafter.
You can mine for resources, craft new items, repair broken items, play our mini games. The list is endless and this is just the beginning. We have amazing things planned ahead with just one focus. The game should be super fun to play 🙂
I think Sam wold like to add to this
Sam|Dragon Crypto
One of the main reasons for us creating an immersive game is we want to provide entertainment to players, not just earning mechanics.
3 — @MagdaSupercars — How will you expand your relationships & build communities in both English & non-English speaking contries? Are there Any restrictions?
Sam|Dragon Crypto
Our experienced marketing and business development team is already doing wonders. We already have strong relationships with so many English and Non-English speaking countries and more are being added daily.
Obviously, there are no restrictions and why would there be?
The goal is to create a super fun game which anyone can enjoy from anywhere in the world. We are very focused on making it user friendly for any location based on the user data we receive.
Our main website is already localized in various languages, as well as our documentation and our target is to make the game multilingual in the future as well. 🙂

Our Hero NFTs are not just for collection, even though these are some super high-quality human art PFPs 😎
The NFTs are divided into various tiers. Each tier has various benefits and extra stats available. These stats can be used in-game to choose a path for your hero. The hero NFT is the key to our meta verse, the Dragon Haven. You use the hero to fight monsters, craft items, search for resources, go in the mines, and hang out in the inn 🙂 It’s your in-game persona and being an NFT, you completely own it!
5 — @Maiphuong32 — Why do you choose $AVAX ?? And is there a chance from @DCGgamefi to cross other networks in future ??
Daniel|Dragon Crypto
Avalanche is one of the best L1s out there. We started our journey with Avalanche because its decentralized, cheap, scalable, highly secure and most importantly super fast. This allows us to have a very good in game experience. Even though we ensure there is least amount of blockchain interference during playing the game, whatever there is, it costs the minimum amount of gas.
Our current goal is to make the best version of the game and once this is all going well we, will start to explore our possibilities further, this will include subnets and cross chain interoperability.

Congratulations @samthewise78 and @heatengine ! You’ve made it through phase 2 of our rather thorough AMA. You have excelled and your progress is noteworthy.
Now you must meet the good people of our telegram community and face down their questions…
We will mute the chat for 4 minutes and let the community ask, then you can answer any 5 of your choice. What do you say?
Telegram Questions
1 — @DeanaWilmoth 🚀🚀Will Dragon Crypto Gaming also care about graphics / gameplay and other factors such as sound, or will it be a crypto and NFT-heavy game?🚀🚀
Sam|Dragon Crypto
We already have sound, graphics and a full game in place with a lot more interaction than the typical staking based game, with an improved graphical system to come soon too, it’s one of the most important aspects of an interactive and immersive game.
2- @evangeline_fife Can you explain, which one is your top priority? Security, Product, Partnership, or Token price?
Sam|Dragon Crypto
In crypto, this all has to align well, security is being sorted out on the contract side by Paladin security who have a great and proven track record, creating the best product will ultimately help investors and anyone following the project, so that is our biggest focus, the product :).
3- Cangeline Fife What is your strongest advantage that you think will make your team leading the market?
Heatengine|Dragon Crypto
We are offering entertaining games with well-thought-through tokenomics that add to sustainability. We think it’s a killer combination!.
4 — @Augustawendt1994 Did the fall of the market affect you?
Heatengine|Dragon Crypto
Who wasn’t affected in any way? We felt it. It is harder to grow in the market, but bear markets are for building, if you start building in bear you are already too late. We received funding from our backers and can calmly work to give our investors and holders the best value and players the best experience.
5- @Cecilia_Parris_2003 Do you have any plan for burning tokens in the future to reduce the supply of the token and increase its investment attractiveness?
Daniel|Dragon Crypto
Thanks for this question. Both our tokens have a burning mechanism through game actions. So when a player pays for any action such as resting in the inn or healing around 20% will be burned and the rest will go back into game rewards. This we believe will help support the price of our tokens.
6- @lamendenhall Where can I currently buy Token?
Daniel|Dragon Crypto
At the moment $DCAU can be bought through Avalanche DEX providers. For DCAR the place to get it is through Avalaunch IDO!
Lovish| Avalaunch
Awesome guys :))
On a final note — you have been an exceptional guest’s. Highly thoughtful answers and cleanly shared information. We’re happy to be hosting your IDO and wish you all the success we imagine you having. Very much appreciate your time today and look forward to your launch and beyond!
Thank you. Been great getting to know you all and DragonCrypto gaming and look forward to our continued work together.
Heatengine|Dragon Crypto
Thank you for having us! You have such a big and active community. We’re glad to be partners with the best on Avalanche!

Dragon Crypto x Avalaunch: IDO Announcement
The migration of the gaming industry onto the blockchain is underway. That much is clear. It has been aggressive and very “crypto” in its ability to both captivate and disappoint while moving at the speed of thought.
Roughly a year into its presence on the center stage, both, the successes and failures are building a foundation and lighting a path forward. The story of “play to earn” has suffered as games, driven by unsustainable inflationary rewards, were met with massive downturns in their respective marketplaces. It seems self-evident that giving away tokens faster than demand can support is a surefire path to a pullback, yet, many supporters believed new users would come in and save the day. Thus far, they have not. For newer entrants, the fundamental value proposition must be rethought.
What we are seeing now is a far more sober narrative that highlights the importance of truly playable games. Despite the obvious setbacks and, as the market works its way through a bear cycle, Gamefi continues to be a highly favored arena. As Avalanche founder, Emin Gün Sirer stated in a recent tweet, “When you have a chain that actually scales, people with demanding Dapps start coming to you to launch. Gaming is particularly demanding in terms of high speed and low fees, and they know where to go.”
In recent months it has become especially limpid that Avalanche is becoming a premier destination for game developers. With the advent and release of subnets, the opportunity for gaming projects to have needed flexibility and reliability in their base chain is more than attractive; it is essential. While it is easy to say Avalanche could become cluttered, the reality is that we are a long way from saturation. In fact, options and variety are the very things that define hubs and destinations. The blockchain is about inclusion and those that host the best and brightest, en masse, will reap the benefits.
One of the most exciting things about launching a game is the opportunity for users to discover an early entry point to things that have great potential. The proverbial grassroots play that starts small and grows in concert with its audience is as exciting as the splashier offering that commands attention with its profile and funding. In the spirit of blooming where one is planted comes Avalaunch’s next IDO: Dragon Crypto Gaming.
What is Dragon Crypto Gaming?
Dragon Crypto Gaming’s goal is to provide a vintage gaming experience on the blockchain that is inspired by old-school classic role-playing games. With decades of experience in game development and software engineering, and being huge gaming enthusiasts themselves, they strive to offer a choose-your-own-adventure style of playing while also providing opportunities for some skill-based earning with questing and crafting.
Dragon Crypto Gaming’s game offerings are based on a two-token system: DCAR and DCAU. DCAU is relatively limited, acting primarily as a point of entry into the game as it is required for the initial hero minting for all new players. This token was distributed to the community with a max supply of 155,000 that was reached in December 2021. The team has locked in a $100 USD price to mint a hero regardless of the value for DCAU in order to keep the barrier to entry very low compared to many other GameFi projects. The DCAR token is the in-game utility token used for crafting, repairing, purchasing materials, and buying land. Furthermore, DCAR allows user to earn a share of revenue from the platform that are paid out in both DCAR and DCAU. There will only be a max supply of 40,000,000 DCAR emitted over a 3-year period and the intention is for DCAR to be deflationary based upon in-game burning mechanisms.
Most of the games that have launched in recent months have been largely idle games with little interaction or a fancy graphic over what is basically just a yield farm. Dragon Crypto Gaming steps in to provide a different and more interactive experience with a team that is focused on building out a fun, challenging, and engaging experience at a reasonable price point.
Project Overview
Dragon Crypto Gaming (DCG) is creating an evolving digital universe that combines engaging gameplay with rewarding mechanics, user ownership and sustainable economics. DCG’s game offerings are currently built on a dual token economy featuring Dragon Crypto Aurum (DCAU) and Dragon Crypto Argenti (DCAR), both tokens holding important in-game utility. The Avalaunch IDO will see the release of DCAR, which drives the economy as follows:
- In-game crafting.
- Land ownership.
- DCAR is the native gas token for the forthcoming subnet.
- Used to purchase materials on the ingame marketplace.
- Breeding Tiny Dragons in the Lab.
DCAR can also be staked for traditional rewards as well as through platform revenue. The revenue model is geared towards economic activity and generated DCAR.
- 80% goes into the to the game’s treasury which are to be distributed as:
- Rewards for game play
- Part of a profit sharing initiative
- Percentages to be determined and tweaked by the team
- 15% is burned
- 5% goes into an ecosystem support fund
Dragon Crypto Gaming currently has two distinct game offerings:
The Legend of Aurum Draconis
The Legend of Aurum Draconis is a fantasy RPG-inspired rewarding adventure, set in an evolving digital universe where users can assemble a heroic and powerful party to embark on immersive, lore-driven quests and defend Dragon Haven from the monsters and magical creatures that lurk in the vast lands surrounding the kingdom. In your adventures, create powerful equipment with gathered resources to help in forging your own destiny.
It is an immersive fantasy RPG where users can :
- Train a party of Heros
- Gain experience to boost stats via combat, gathering, crafting and other in-game activities.
- Level up and customize your Heroes with a wide range of skills and attributes
- Craft equipment from gathered resources and choose from a vast range of weapons, armour and items.
- Navigate evolving quest lines and…defeat enemies of rising difficulty to obtain valuable loot.
- Buy land plots and build their own fiefdoms.
Earn token rewards from in-game actions such as:
- Combat, crafting, marketplace trading and mini-games.
- Future integration with Tiny Dragons for combat boosting.
Dragon Crypto Hero
Is the NFT avatar required to play The Legend of Aurum Draconis. As mentioned, it is purchased with DCAU and each Hero is pegged to $100 USD cost regardless of the token price. The team will release a set number of heroes in various waves to allow new players to onboard. The rarity scale of the heroes is broken down into 5 tiers from Neophyte being the most common to Legendary being the rarest.
Each rarity level comes with a different amount of starting points that you can spend to upgrade hero stats. Users can take multiple heroes with them and switch between them in battle to ensure you can utilize the strongest one for each battle or quest. As you complete quests and level up, a heroes’ abilities will increase along with the chances of winning future battles. As the game nears launch, there is a lot of strategy talk going on within the discord as the beta played out. Some have mentioned focusing on endurance to win battles while others are looking at speed. It is not all about fighting battles though, you can choose to purchase a pickaxe from the marketplace to use in the mines, or forage in the deep forest to find materials to use for crafting to level your hero.
MiniGame: Tiny Dragons
A casual gaming experience where Tiny Dragon owners can battle for glory, level up their beasts and win attractive prizes in our Tiny Dragons Arena minigame. Dragon Crypto Gaming’s inaugural series of NFTs, Tiny Dragons, was released in September 2021 and all 1000 were minted and sold out in minutes. Tiny Dragons hold great utility, earning reflections, fighting in the arena and much more.
- A set of adorable baby dragon NFTs.
- Casual game activities based in the same ecosystem as Aurum Draconis.
Users can:
- Level up, boost stats and take Tiny Dragons into battle.
- Tiny Dragons Arena tournament for a chance to win prizes.
- 1000+ arena battles have been fought since the release of Tiny Dragons in Q4 ‘21.
- Will be integrated with the Legend of Aurum Draconis following an upgrade.
- DCG’s NFT Partners will be able to deploy their NFTs to battle Tiny Dragons.
DCG will also see exciting and improved gaming mechanics where users can choose Tiny Dragons tactics for battle. In addition to Tiny Dragons Arena, upcoming features will allow you to combine your Tiny Dragons’ DNA to create rare and powerful offspring, and send your Tiny Dragons on adventures to collect valuable loot.
As gamers at heart, DCG’s main goal is to offer an unparalleled gaming experience on the blockchain and intends to push the boundaries of play-and-earn gaming. To achieve this, DCG will leverage its existing reach as it expands deeper into the gameverse. DCG has grown to become one of Avalanche’s biggest Gamefi projects in terms of community strength and the number of token holders, and is well-positioned to capitalize on the growing Gamefi space.
Project Overview Team Interview:

Partners & Backers:
“Keychain Capital seeks to partner with the most innovative GameFi projects, and Dragon Crypto Gaming checks several boxes, particularly product-market fit and competitive advantage. This team is serious about building something amazing,” states Dan Mgbor Co founder of BENQI finance and Keychain Capital.
“After spending a good couple of days playing The Legend of Aurum Draconis, and despite the fact that beta gives a limited experience, I can tell that the game is excellent. It feels like a mix of Diablo and Heroes of Might and Magic. The Legend of Aurum Draconis is marrying the best from traditional off-chain gaming and GameFi worlds. The game allows each player a unique experience in an ever-expanding metaverse.” -Mike Popesku, Cofounder, Aventures DAO
Closing Thoughts
The development team remains very active with clear progress towards goals, delineated in their “dev diary.” From old text-based combat systems to updated graphical based combat systems with masteries and elements. From Deepwood to the Mines, new locations are always being added and improved upon. With new artwork and music being introduced to new questlines being made active, Dragon Crypto gaming is always moving forward towards its goals of making a game whos look and feel can satisfy the nostalgia of old school gamers, while creating mechanics that appeal to the modern gamers.
Dragon Crypto Gaming is compelling for a number of reasons. They’ve made considerable progress since we first encountered their team roughly nine months ago and are closing in on a mainnet launch. Their collective experience having a community distributed token in DCAU and building a community is something that can not be fast tracked. They have made inroads and have a genuinely supportive set of partners in the Avalanche ecosystem. These are the things that create sustainable projects as the input of valued partners can be noted in their thoughtful tokenomics and valuation. Also, the utility of the token is a bit of a welcome departure from what is typical and, at times, rote. It is not uncommon to notice the “raising” token offers governance while DCAR is not the governance token but the true driver of the ecosystem.
“The Avalaunch team has been there to help us at every stage of the token launch.Their expertise has been paramount in designing strong tokenomics and bringing our vision to reality. Avalaunch exudes professionalism and instills confidence that the launch will run smoothly.” states Sam, Project Lead and Founder.

Snake City: Burn and IDO Update
As a result of an ongoing dialogue between Avalaunch and Snake City, the following adjustments have been made to the IDO in order to best serve our respective communities and honor the current market conditions.
TL;DR Updated Information on The Snake City IDO on Avalaunch:
- Sale Size: 30M SNCT at .02
- USD 600,000 USD
- Vesting: 20% at TGE, weekly vesting over 5 months
- Initial Circulating Supply: 14M SNCT (excluding liquidity)
- Initial Market Cap: 280K USD (excluding liquidity)
- 20M SNCT will be burned by Snake City
- All unsold tokens will be burnt
“At Snake City, we do our best to be strategic and take actions that we feel best support the future of our game and growing community. Currently, the first iteration of the game is ready to deploy and we have plans to launch it on May 27th, in coordination with our Avalaunch IDO, NFT sale and listing. The Snake City vision is anchored not in any particular market condition, but in the game ecosystem and community itself. It will only evolve with users and players and we are excited to begin accumulating the foundation that can only come from launching.
After consulting with Avalaunch, our long-time partners in this process, we both jointly decided that the best direction is always to go forward while respecting the climate in which we operate. The ability to be dynamic is demanded of us by our industry, which will always present countless opportunities for Snake City, as well as an equal number of challenges.
With that in mind, we have decided to reduce the size of the raise from the current $1,000,000 USD to $600,000 USD, with a few important details:
- $400,000 USD or 20,000,000 SNCT will be burnt prior to IDO.
- All unsold IDO tokens will also be burnt.
We feel that this adjustment can accomplish a couple of things. One, we’d like to put our best foot forward in a market showing apprehension for newly launching projects. While we are confident that Snake City will deliver a robust and sustainable gaming ecosystem, outside factors like prevailing economic conditions will always be considered.
Two, it allows us to reduce both the circulating supply of tokens very early while we are in a more speculative phase, as well as the total supply.
Crypto is driven by speculation but we prefer to show rather than tell people what we can do. As we move through our IDO, NFT sale and game launch, there can be a real demonstration of fundamentals which will allow a concerned marketplace to more accurately determine our value.”

Snake City AMA #2 — Technical Deep Dive with Frank Tran & Nick Vu (Co-Founders) (Recap)
On 5/21/2022 at 7:30 p.m. (PST), an AMA session was held on Avalaunch Telegram with Snake City co-founders Frank Tran and Nick Vu. Below we present to you an excerpt from AMA with questions and answers.
Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch
Hello everyone and once again welcome to the sequel AMA for Snake City. Today we have not one but two esteemed members of the Snake City team — @frank_snakecity and @nickvu1208 — good to have you both here today. Also nice to be able to dig a little into the project with you all. How are you today?
Frank|Snake City
Hello everyone, thanks for having me today.
I’m Frank, one of the co-founders of Snake City.
Nick|Snake City
Hello everyone, I am Nick — game producer at Snake City, happy to join AMA today witch Avalaunch team
Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch
Good to have you both so let’s get into it since we have an interested and invested community. Firstly, thank you for your time and for being here with us today. Let’s start off with an introduction about who you are, what your background looks like and how you managed to be where you are today.
Frank|Snake City
Sure, I have almost 10 years experience working in IT & ICT industry.
As a tech savvy, i was falling in love with the concept of decentralize world. I started as a blockchain research early in 2017 and worked as a Product Owner for a Singapore based blockchain start-up backed by Animoca Brands.
Nick|Snake City
I have almost 11 years experience working as a game producer at traditional game studio. Last year, when the gamefi became trending in crypto space, I jumped into a gamefi player so that I was so excited to become a game producer of a blockchain game.
Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch
Appreciate that. Both of you have considerable experience in your respective fields. This is the sort of pedigree you can really build upon.
Nick|Snake City
I feel lucky to be a part of Snake City team. As a game producer, I have a chance to work with a passionate team of game developer, game artist, and game designer. My job at Snake City is to schedule and manage the plan to make sure the deadline and quality of our game.
I was in charge of building several products regarding NFT and some of them was pretty well-known in the crypto art community such as Wrappedpunks (this product is still featured on the Larvalabs website — the team behind the famous Cryptopunks collection), Blank.art (a curated platform and marketplace for crypto art),…
Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch
This is definitely worth a mention. Appreciate that…moving on…Let’s talk a little bit about the team behind Snake City. Who are they, what their experience looks like and how did the team come together?
Frank|Snake City
Well, currently the Snake City team has more than 20 members across business, tech, marketing and design
However, the core team started with just 6 people but we managed to cover almost every part of the project from Business & Marketing to Product development.
We were friends and colleagues for a long time before so we understand each other very well, which skill one of us is strong at.
After work, some of us used to challenge each other in the Slither game. That’s why when the gamefi concept was booming, we immediately thought about it and came up with Snake City because we understand why it’s so popular and how to make it even more successful but familiar with the Crypto community.
Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch
This next one looks like it’s for @nickvu1208 since it involves timelines 😁😁Snake City already has a playable version. How long did it take to develop this? How has the feedback been so far?
Nick|Snake City
Yes, as you may know, we have already delivered a test version of our game to our community to experience the gameplay. We started to build Snake City Q4 2021, well so it takes almost 7 months to have testable version of Snake City game
We have already 2 rounds of testnet, we received a alot of valuable feedback from community to improve the quality of our game. Now, our game is ready to launch right after the IDO.
Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch
That’s a lot of work and kudos to the team for getting that far along prior to launching the token.
Which brings me to the next question — When do you plan to deploy the game on the mainnet? What sets of challenges do you expect during the process?
Frank|Snake City
Great question, our game is ready and we plan to launch it at the same time as Token listing & INO event on May 27th (in 6 days).
Set of challenges? Hmm, interesting question, honestly we are very confident in app development, there were some bugs found by our community during the testnet events but most of them were minors and were solved by our tech team.
The only thing that we felt the most difficult was the game economy indeed.
Different from most of other gamefi projects, we’re not idle games but a skill based gameplay. That’s why it’s really hard to manage the results when users play the game. However, we have carefully calculated all the scenarios that might happen and now we are very confident to make the game economy sustainable in the long run.
Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch
I think these fundamentals are going to matter more in these types of conditions. The “thoughtful” launch and approach is going to matter because we’ve seen what can go wrong longer term with gaming economies. Addressing those concerns prior to launch is a smart thing.
For anybody reading the whitepaper it becomes obvious that NFTs are a key component of the game mechanics, however it is not so obvious why you designed and planned to build your own marketplace. What utility do you expect to achieve with this implementation that could have otherwise been achieved via third party marketplaces?
Nick|Snake City
Interesting question,
Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch
We do our best Sir. 😁
Nick|Snake City
Well, the reason for us to build our own marketplace looks like the same as other games, we want our user have the best experience in-game. They do not to complete so many steps to build and sell their NFTs. User can stay at our game to do everything.
And more importantly, we do not want our user to pay expensive transaction fee of third party platform. As you may know, our marketplace transaction fee will be used to burn in-game token $TOC to reduce the inflation.
Lastly, we can control every updates that we make with our marketplace so that our users do not have to wait to access these additional feature updates. They can experience these immediately.
Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch
I appreciate the ability to keep it all “inhouse” and capture the end to end user experience. Again, thoughtful stuff and self-reliant.
Since it’s come up a lot on twitter and in here — There are several features that place Snake City up the ranks among the current Web3 gamefi system. Can you explain how the different game mechanics: training mode, battle arena, tournament, free zone, discovery mode and sponsor events work? Why was it necessary to build such an extensive network of instructiveness?
Frank|Snake City
Sure, in Snake City, we have 6 different gameplays
The 1st one is Training Mode which is ready to launch in the next few days after IDO.
In this mode, the players can select one of the challenges from Easy to Super to practice with the bots and earn rewards in $TOC token. There are a time limit, you have to accumulate enough points, stay away the bomb and being alive at the end to pass the challenge. The more difficulty the challenge, the more rewards and experience points you can achieve if you win.
Next is Arena Battle, players control their Snake Hero to fight against other players in order to win rewards in the game
There will be a daily leaderboard where players are being ranked regarding the points they accumulate in the game. The higher position the players stand, the higher reward and experience they achieve. In this gameplay mode, the reward will be paid in both token, $SNCT & $TOC.
The 3rd one is Tournament mode.
The idea behind this gameplay is pretty simple: Each player buy a ticket and get one slot in the game. Most of the fee collected from participation will be used for rewarding the top 3 players in the ranking board. Therefore, this will be very fun and challenging where users are skin in the game to play against each other.
Next is Free zone mode and this attracts a lot of attention from the community.
Our purpose of this mode is trying to remove all the financial obstacles for the users to play with our game. Users do not have to invest anything to play the game. They will be assigned a Free Snake to start and enjoy the game. Free to play does not mean that there are no rewards for players, we have an allocated pool of rewards specifically for this gameplay mode.
The 5th one is Discovery Mode, players will use their Snakes to discover the city maps with many local famous places to collect NFT shards. By matching them, they can redeem full NFT with big value.
Players have to stake $TOC to receive tickets. When the event starts, the tickets will be randomly selected. Players must stake their tokens for at least a few days before the event occurs.
When participating, players will receive additional NFTs from us, our partners , $SNCT or even USDC.
Finally, the last one, Sponsor Events. Our ambition is to make Snake City beyond the GameFi sector, we do not want to limit ourselves only in our ecosystem. Therefore, we came up with the Sponsor Events game mode. This will be opened for the purpose of collaboration between Snake City and other crypto projects, trying to bring more value & fun for all the players.
In each event, the Snake City team will provide a unique design for all the in-game elements that represent our partners’ characteristics which bring a new look and different kinds of rewards for the players.
In Snake City, we spent a lot of time researching users’ behavior and the gamers journey, this is a very important step for a long term goal.
We separate our users into different categories, analyze their personas and try to understand their behaviors and point of interests. From that, we come up with gameplay to match with each user type. That’s the reason why we have such an extensive network of instructiveness.
Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch
This may qualify for the most epic AMA answer not just in our history but anywhere. I’m going to let this breathe for a moment before moving on.
Thank you for this.
Very much appreciated…Here’s another challenging question but one that must be address — At the heart of the game economy lies two tokens, an in-game currency and the native token. Can you expand on the dual token system and how the play to earn mechanics works?
Nick|Snake City
In SnakeCity, we have $SNCT and $TOC, $SNCT is our native token and $TOC is our in-game token. They have separate utilities.
With $SNCT you can purchase Eggs and NFT Snakes from our marketplace, it can be given as rewards for token holders when staking and it also helps to govern the Snake City ecosystem. In several game modes, users can also earn $SNCT for their winning.
On the other hand, $TOC will help you to buy extra turns in some game modes, and buy tickets to play in the Tournament. $TOC is used for breeding and fusion feature as well. In addition, you can use $TOC for purchasing some in-game items to make your snake stronger.
We design game mechanics with many utilities for our ingame tokens. All $TOC tokens spent by user in-game will be burnt to reduce the inflation of our ecosystem. In addition, major part of our revenue is also spent to burn $TOC tokens because we want sustainability for our game so that we can see the long-term development of our game.
Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch
Appreciate that @nickvu1208 also a comprehensive answer.
Which of the following features: breeding, fusion and metaverse do you expect to be the most challenging to build and develop, and how do you foresee overcoming these obstacles?
Frank|Snake City
Well, definitely Metaverse is the most challenging feature to develop. Our team is currently working on Breeding & Fusion and I think these features will be ready even in this quarter.
Metaverse is another story. No doubt it will be the future where people can easily interact in the virtual world like we communicate live now. However, it’s still in the early stage similar to dotcom in 2000 & blockchain in 2014.
At Snake City, in the 1st phase of Metaverse development, we will make an augmented reality version for the game. Users will be able to play in the real-world environment and discover a new look of the City where you live 🚀
Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch
Getting spoiled with these answers. So @nickvu1208 while we have you here — When do you expect to have the full playable version of the game?
because so many game initiatives are truly a long way from having the full version complete
Nick|Snake City
I can say now, you can join our game with full flow to experience the training mode. Other game modes will be released in the next few months. The full game modes expect to release in the next quarter.
In addition, fusion and breeding are also releasing in the next quarter. You can check the details in our roadmap. At the moment, we are confident that we are the gamefi that release the game right after the IDO which make our game distinguishable from the others.
Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch
This is good news to me. Moving on as we near the Twitterati and community weighing in — What would you say the general experience has been for you and the team to build this entire infrastructure on Avalanche?
Frank|Snake City
Honestly we are very fortunate to build Snake City on Avalanche.
At the beginning, we researched all the popular blockchains such as Solana, BSC, Ethereum, Fantom & Avalanche. We tried to make a detailed comparison of each blockchain and Avalanche came out at the top eventually.
Ultimately we decided to build on Avalanche and we saw how passionate and supportive the avalanche community is. Also it’s growing rapidly recently with subnets and it would be an attractive future upgrade for us.
Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch
Wait — before we move on to Twitter
I need to ask — is there any development progress not yet revealed that you’d like to share with our community?
Nick|Snake City
Our development team (including me 😁) is working hard to deliver Snake City game on time. Now, the only thing I can tell you is that we will bring a lot of cool features in the coming months such as new game modes, mobile apps (android/iOS), new game features.
Stay up to date with our news in our social channels.
Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch
Appreciate you indulging us
Now lets move on to the next leg of the journey — the twitterati, the twitterverse, the feared “CT” 😁
Twitter Questions
@Chandjv1 who asks — In the future, in what other areas will there be in-depth cooperation between #SnakeCity and #AvalaunchApp?
Frank|Snake City
Thanks @Chandjv1 for the question. As you know, we have a game mode, sponsored event, in which we partner with other crypto projects to promote their project in our game platform. I think it is a great area for collaboration between Snake City and Avalaunch as many promising and innovative projects will be offered by Avalaunch.
Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch
Agreed. Think there will be more opportunities to collaborate together. Cheers.
@ImMelike32 — Can the community give their opinion about the development of “Snake City Game”?
Nick|Snake City
Thanks @ImMelike32 for the question. Absolutely yes, we would love to hear the opinion and welcome all feedback from community about game development to improve the game.
@Maiphuong32 — I’ve seen Snake City played on Steam, Browser or Google Play. So, do you have an application development plan for IOS?
Frank|Snake City
Great question @Maiphuong32. It is in our roadmap for mobile application (iOS and Android). As the game is developed as a casual game which can be played in a short time so people will likely play it in mobile. The game can be played while you’re on the train to work or even while watching TV, and is designed to help the user switch off.
@quyencao3200 is up next asking a predictable and reasonable question — do you plan to deploy any mechanism or schemes for SNCT in order to keep the token stable in volatile markets?
Nick|Snake City
Nice question @quyencao3200.
I would say:
– Burning mechanism, 70% of our revenue stream is used for burning tokens and adding liquid
– It is not only a governance token, it is also given some utilities: gaming reward, stacking, nft sales purchase
– In the long run, we would design Snake City as a community project with voting power from SNCT holder@realfanxx is dying to know — Can you please list some of the partnerships of #SnakeCity and your plans to be active in Avalanche, and perhaps seek more partners in the future?
Frank|Snake City
Thanks @realfanxx for the question. Sure, we have a huge plan to expand Snake City beyond our ecosystem. We do not want to limit ourselves.
We are in discussion with a lot of partners in these sectors:
- Avalanche Subnet
– Marketplace
– CEX and DEX
– Game Analytics platform
– Other game/crypto projects
Telegram Questions
Hello @nickvu1208 @frank_snakecity According to the roadmap, what are your most important next priorities? Does your team have enough funds and strong community to achieve those milestones?
Frank|Snake City
I would say:
– Avalanche subnet to save gas fee for user, optimize game traffic and enhance user experience
– Multi chain integration
– Event mode to user have chance to earn many other token in our gameHello @nickvu1208 @frank_snakecity What is the most ambitious goal of your project? What is the ultimate vision that Your project is trying to achieve within the cryptocurrencies market? I would appreciate it if you could share with us
Frank|Snake City
The ultimate goal of Snake City project is we would love to create a Snake Universe with a lot of Casual Games. And to turn Snake City into a community platform, a truly decentralized project that no one really owns.
Hello @nickvu1208 @frank_snakecity What’s your main focus right now, are you focused on the community or market/Exchange or the products?
Frank|Snake City
At the moment, we’re 100% focus on the product development and listing as the launch will be in the next few days.
All important events like token listing, NFT sales and game launch will be happened at the same time on May 27th.Are you a global project or local project? At present, which market are you focus on, or is it focused on building and growing to gain customers, users and partners? @nickvu1208
Frank|Snake City
We are global project and provide the experience as a local one. Besides global marketing activities, we are planning to run many exclusive marketing event for our local community, And in the future, multi language is developed and integrated to the game in order to bring better experience for gamer who are from: Indonesia, Brazil, Vietnam, China, Tukey and many others.
Hello @nickvu1208 @frank_snakecity 🐍🐍🐍To what extent does “Snake City” focus on the game experience aspect? What actions were taken to make the game suitable for everyone, including non-cryptocurrency users?
Frank|Snake City
In Snake City, when developing the game, we analyzed and created a gamer journey that helps us to understand what gamer think, how do they feel and what do they want. From that we can create great UX for the platform and help gamers have great experience when playing. In addition, we created player funnel and player type from new comers to seniors, from that we can develop many campaigns for each type of member.
Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch
Well done. @nickvu1208 and @frank_snakecity it has been a pleasure hosting you here today and one of the more informative AMAs I’ve been a part of. We very much look forward to your IDO and maiden voyage on the 27th. This is the beginning of what I believe will be a very special journey. Snake City AMA #1 — Project Overview with Daniel Phan (Co-Founder)(Recap)
On 5/19/2022 at 7:30 p.m. (PST), an AMA session was held on Avalaunch with special guest , Daniel Phan, Co-Founder, Snake City . Below we present to you an excerpt from AMA with questions and answers.
Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch
Hello again everyone and welcome to the Snake City AMA. I have to say it’s amazing to see the amount of interest in gaming and how aggressively private equity is still investing into the space. There’s been no shortage of interest in Snake City and the growing community you’ve developed is testament to this. GameFi is here to stay and here to do their best to be one of the pillars on Avalanche is Snake City. Today we are fortunate to have @daniel_snakecity with us here today, How are you?
Daniel |Snake City
Thanks for the invite Dave. Hello everyone, I am glad to be here today!
Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch
Our pleasure. Good to have you. So let’s get right into it and start with an intro — Firstly though, thank you for taking the time to help our community learn more about your project. Please tell us who you are and how your previous experiences brought you to where you are today.
Daniel |Snake City
Sure, This is Daniel, Co founder of Snake City, I have more than 8 years experience in the IT industry and have been in crypto space from 2017. My first project was wallet development with my partner in Canada which helps me to jump in crypto. Not only public blockchain, I also have experience with Private blockchain which is Hyperledger technology from IBM, we helped Kasikorn Bank in Thailand with Letter of Guarantee system and CIC (Construction Industry Council) in Hong Kong with Safety Application for frontier workers.
I’ve been a gamer my whole life, playing a lot games from simple such as nokia game, bomberman, pikachu to more complex one, and I love to create a fun, easy to play game, we decided to build SnakeCity which is a familiar snake game that will bring the best experience to players.
Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch
A good background. 8 years in tech 5+ in crypto. For everybody here today not yet fully aware, can you brief us on what Snake City is about?
Daniel |Snake City
Snake City is a NFT game built on Avalanche and is inspired by the very famous Slither.io and Snake Nokia game back to 2000s.
With concept: Simplicity, Addiction, Fun and Personalization, Snake City offer 6 game modes to user: Free zone, Discovery Mode, Training mode, Arena Battle, Tournament and Sponsored Event.
The game play is very simple, to control a snake, around a wide area and eat food, avoid the bomb, defeating and consuming other players to gain mass to grow the largest and longest in the game.
Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch
Simple is good, playable is great. 😀 What would you say are the main features that make Snake City unique, and therefore able to compete with the current gamefi landscape?
Daniel |Snake City
Yeah, I have seen many gaming projects fall into the trap of doing too much and trying to accomplish many things at once, instead of aiming for simplicity. So that, our idea is to create a casual and skill-based game that targets at a mass market audience, as opposed to a hardcore game, which is targeted at hobbyist gamers. We focus on the concept of Fun, simple gameplay that is easy to understand, Simple user interface, Short sessions, less learned skill so a game can be played during work breaks. while on public transportation, or while waiting in a queue anywhere.
Among the gameFi world, and in our roadmap, we create Snake City with vision as a Platform not just game only, but also a promotion platform to promote other Crypto projects. We will soon collaborate with other NFT projects so when players enter the game, they can earn another NFT type from partners’ projects or their token by playing Snake City game. With this feature, we will let a partner hire/bid the map, and design character, food, skin, traits as logo, brand asset of the partner. User will join in that map and control the snake to earn tokens and NFTs.
Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch
It sure is and appreciate the thorough answer. Given the story line I have to ask — How did the game story for Snake City evolve? Where did the inspiration come from?
Daniel |Snake City
You know, We are inspired by the famous snake game slither.io so we want to build a snake-based gamefi to serve people a simple, fun, and entertaining game. In addition, we are big fans of science fiction and metaverse concepts. We develop our gamestory to look like a future world where the snake rules the world, humans become a minority and must use technology to fight against snakes. Humanity must stand and work together to build up the world. The game story revolves around snake robot heroes built by humans using technology. Moreover, this storyline helps us expand into more game modes and integrate VR/AR technologies that make our games more interesting. Join us to see interesting updates that will be gradually revealed in the future.
Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch
Awesome. Thanks for this — One interesting aspect of the game which for sure will help with its popularity among users is the ‘Free Zone’’ acting as the initial ground where anybody can start experiencing the game for free. While this for sure will help bring experienced players into the ecosystem, it will only become available at a later stage. What are your plans for marketing the product from the get-go and what about appealing to a wider audience?
Daniel |Snake City
Thanks for the question, I believe SnakeCity will easily attract players from non-crypto world since we have Freezone mode, this is a free-to-play mode that doesn’t require players to invest. As the game has a close concept to the famous snake game, players won’t find it hard to learn how to play, they just need to jump in the game and experience.
Moreorver, we will soon create replicas of the influencers in our own game NFTs, Create skin, character that relates to each influencer and get them to promote it and be heavily incentivized to play the game. We hope that can be done well, so the influencers repost them to their followers and even use it as their profile picture on Twitter. DO you want to have your own Snake profile picture Dave? 😀
Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch
My body is ready although my mind is resistant…
Okay! I’m in.
Similar to the point above, how do you aim to scale the game? What strategies will there be employed to increase the number of users, perhaps not just the crypto-native ones but potential players from traditional gaming?
Daniel |Snake City
Yeah, converting non crypto user is one of the strategy we are working, We have seen a lot of gamers play and watch livestream the game Snake.io, Slither.io, Wormate.io, Littlebigsnake.io on their youtube and facebook. We have list of them and will invite them to play Snake City via our campaigns (weekly and monthly) so we can easily approach other non crypto gamer, as they can play the game without investment.
Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch
On the roadmap soon after the token launch there is a plan for expanding the current network. Can you give us an indication of the type of partnerships you’re looking to onboard? What values are you looking for the most from these collaborations?
Daniel |Snake City
Our priority is to make members have the best experience with the game. To expand the community, we have planned to collaborate with guilds and of course KOLs including streamers and youtubers in the future, through that kind of partnership there will be more people who know about our game.
We also have a different way of onboarding partnership. Regarding Sponsored Event game mode, we can both use the reputation of SnakeCity and other projects. Very soon, we will let partners hire our map or we can design their logo, character in the game. Players can earn other projects’ NFT or token or even, stable coin. That’s a highlight of SnakeCity because we will have external cash flow from promoting other projects and it would help SnakeCity to grow sustainable.
Finally, as Subnet advantage is the reason for us to go ahead with Avalanche, we will put it as the highest priority for us next quarter to help users save gas fee, optimize the traffic and enhance the performance.
Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch
This is strategically interesting and smart. Kind of a multi-pronged approach and of course, the subnet presence is going to be something in the coming months.
With the word “Finally” I assume you’re finished 😀 so I will proceed — Behind the economy sustaining Snake City is the native currency: the $SNCT token. In addition, there is also another token, $TOC. What is the difference between the two tokens, how does their utility compare?
Daniel |Snake City
Well, we run dual token model. $SNCT is our main token and $TOC is our in-game token. With different game modes and other activities, you can earn different rewards as well. $SNCT and $TOC also have separate utilities.
With $SNCT you can purchase Eggs and NFT Snakes, it can be given as rewards for token holders when staking and it also helps to govern the Snake City ecosystem On the other hand, $TOC will help you to buy more Turn in some game modes, and buy tickets to play in the Tournament. $TOC is used for breeding features as well. So we put a lot of utilities for both native token and in game token.
There are two points that stand out of the project: we develop an anti-hacking system and an anti-inflation mechanism which is the most concern in the gameFi world. In terms of anti-hacking systems, we have researched and learned to minimize hacking/cheating in the game. Plus Blockchain technology, the level of security is one level higher than traditional games. About anti-inflation mechanism, we have always prepared for the project’s balance economy that includes NFT Economy, Token Economy including Minting control, Token Utility, Burning Mechanism and Diverse Revenue Stream.
Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch
The standard two-token is often not through too well in my experience. This has a sense of balance and consideration, particularly for the game currency. Well done.
Can you give us an indication of the types of centralized exchanges you are looking to launch the token on?
Daniel |Snake City
We will list our token in Trader Joe first as it is more convenient for gamer to use our both token SNCT and TOC. In addition, we got the confirmation for some centralized exchanges and soon will announce it. In gamefi, liquidity is very important to player. DEXs are great, however the liquidity is usually not as great, especially for government token. That’s why, we want to offer that to the community.
Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch
I appreciate that. While the long term prospects for a project are what matters, conditions are such that near term catalysts and presence are going to be asked of you.
Can you give us an overview for the plan your team is undertaking to bring Snake City’s experience as part of the metaverse landscape? What will this entail?
Daniel |Snake City
Definitlely, as we are engineers who in love new technologies so we have some plan for it. In our long-term development, we build a metaverse platform where the user can experience the gaming environment in the most realistic way. As mentioned in our storyline, users have to control a snake hero (known as a snake robot created by laboratory scientists) to fight with real snakes that are invading the world.
We will develop VR, AR technology to increase the user experience in the game. The word City in our name stands for that metaverse concept, we will design the City map (it could be New York, Hanoi or Jarkata) and let snake run around the map to eat NFT and join in battle.
Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch
Let’s get a little personal here Daniel — I always want to know of a founder — What aspects of Snake City are you most excited about and why?
Daniel |Snake City
I think the game play that we are building for Snake City, it is very simple and easy to play, but it is still addictive, hard-to-master and fun enough. In addition, we have the game mode to help player to collect not only Snake City token but also many other project token which help player have more choice and earning, which makes the game more interesting.
Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch
Very cool. Our final question before we move on to the questions from the good folks at Twitter so buckle up. Do you have any lasting thoughts you would like to share with the community?
Daniel |Snake City
Sure, I would like to add some infor about our next milestone. we will have the NFT sales and game release right after the IDO. Only 630 NFTs are sales 27 May and players need to use our token SNCT to buy it. We hope the community after buying our token in launchpad can use it to own Genesis 0 Snake, and as our burning mechanism, every NFT sales we use 70% to burn our token and add liquid.
at the moment, we are opening game contest, please visit our telegram and enjoy the game.
Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch
Well done. You have a completed a great leg on this wonderful journey.
Twitter Questions
@AkihisaMori45 — How do you see the current state of the crypto scene? Is it over hyped and over valued, just about right or undervalued?
Daniel |Snake City
this’s a very interesting question. From my point of view, crypto always is cycle, but if we take it a long run, the gamefi and crypto is still in very early stage. The games are clunky, and the experiences are mixed. There is a lot of friction because it is not easy to onboard gamers who have never purchased crypto before. However, it will change in the coming years as tools become more streamlined and easier to use and understand. This would drive up demand, separate winning projects from losers, and give investors a return on their investment.
@nicole_binuya — Do you have any Bug Bounty to check for vulnerabilities?’
Daniel |Snake City
Definitely, we always treat security as the highest priority so we have big rewards for everyone who helps us improve it.
@AdcDavidtai1999 — Where does the name of your project come from? Do any team members like or have a pet snake?
Daniel |Snake City
there are many partners asking the same question about where our name come from. I would say, Snake City = Snake + City. Snake is the concept of the game where the player controls a character who goes around the map and eats foods, tokens, and NFTs. and the City stands for our game play, We have many city maps designed for our local community from Paris to Jakarta or Hanoi.
@quyencao3200 — Is your gameplay easily understood by all kinds of players especially for those who are relatively new into crypto or just starting out?
Daniel |Snake City
Sure thing, One of our core values is simplicity, we design game mechanics, UI UX and game rules are very easy to understand. We run 2 rounds testnet already, the last round we have around 8500 players in 4 days. They are quickly familiar with the game and we don’t see many questions about how to play it.
@AdcDavidtai1999 — How big is your team and how can we get introduced with the rest of your team members and founders? Can community interact with them like you?
Daniel |Snake City
We have a team of 17 members which are 6 founders and 5 developers, 2 artists, 2 QA and 2 marketing. You guys can check our linkedin in our white paper, section our team.
Telegram Questions
During these days, be a Multi-chain platform is an obligation to be considered a competitive project, so can you explain who how many chains are you able to support?
Daniel |Snake City
Great question, we believe in multi chain future that’s why we are working hard to integrate more chains in Snake City. Next Quater will be big for Snake City as we will implement it in our system.
Token Burn or BuyBack program play an important role in increasing Token value Do you have a token burn or buyback program plan to attract investors?
Daniel |Snake City
Thanks for the questions, I would say in Snake City, we implement a sustainable game economy in which, we use 70% of our all revenue stream to burn token and add liquid, 10% for community wallet to share with snake owner. Please visit our website, session game economy for more detail
Currently where i can buy Snake City NFTs? How much will cost to buy a Snake City NFt? And when Snake City game will be available?
Daniel |Snake City
The NFT sales will be the same time as TGE, 27 May. You can buy it in our platform and you need to use SNCT token (not stable coin or Avax). The game will release at the same time too.
According to the roadmap, what is your most important next priority?
Daniel |Snake City
Subnet and multichain
Are you afraid some day there will be another project with more innovative technology can replace your project Snake City ?
Daniel |Snake City
We welcome them, as our vision, Snake city is not only gamefi platform, we would partner with other crypto and gamefi projects to let user can earn their token, nft in our platform. we don’t want to limit ourselves only in our ecosystem.
Dave Donnenfeld | Avalaunch
Daniel, you have done it. I’m ashamed if I ever had a moment’s doubt. You powered through it with ease.
I’d like to thank you for being here today and moving ahead with Snake City at a blistering pace. You all deserve the interest you’ve generated and the continued success I anticipate.

Snake City X Avalaunch: IDO Announcement
As the crypto and the broader markets remain volatile, builders continue to build.
Without question, there is much to take away from recent events in terms of the challenges surrounding GameFi and scalability (to say nothing of algorithmic stable coins). During the recent perturbations, a “flight to quality” thesis has emerged while private equity remains staunchly devoted to gaming. It continues to garner attention and investment whilst Avalanche makes ongoing headway as a hub for top flight projects. In the bigger picture, the metaverse continues to both tease and prove that a world exists where individuals, guilds and teams can compete for and earn meaningful income.
Project Overview
Snake City is an NFT game built on the Avalanche Network that allows players to select from numerous city maps where they can indulge their gaming appetites from Hanoi to Paris. Inspired by Slither.io, Snake City has been released as a new GameFi project where each NFT functions as a colorful lively snake that aims to appeal to crypto denizens and “nocoiners” alike.
The World
The game takes place in a future world where modern biotechnology has accelerated and achieved some astonishing feats. Human history has been rewritten, all starting from a lab in the depths of the Amazon jungle where scientists discover a substance inside a snake’s brain that, when combined with synthetic additives, can give them human-level intelligence. Whilst being developed into promising applications, the intelligence and the size of the snake continued to grow rapidly, concerning the scientists. In the end cooler heads prevailed and the decision was made to cancel the research. The remaining snakes were slated to be killed and the substances destroyed because of their potential risks…
However, the Amazon jungles were hit with a huge storm and some of the snakes escaped from the controlled environment of the lab. As fate would have it, giant super intelligent snakes have come to dominate and occupy most of the world. A war ensued to retrieve the land which was occupied by the snakes. In a breakthrough, scientists discovered that the snakes could be killed by collecting Uranium, Botanium, Neganium, Motanium in the lands where the snakes grew largest — namely, in the deep Atlantic Ocean, Sahara desert, Northern Europe and the great mountains of Tibet.
The Game
Players must join and become warriors to wage battle against the snakes in the metaverse. The stakes are high as the fate of humanity rests squarely on the shoulders of our aspiring heroes. The war arena and battles commence in different locales of Snake City, requiring players to have knowledge about the characteristics of the terrain and apply suitable fighting strategies.
Snake City attempts to incorporate the best of existing games and also stand a cut above the rest. Similar to other games, players can earn tokens as well as participate in a marketplace to exchange, buy and sell NFTs. However, Snake City is unique in its playability, story line and most importantly, as a skill-based game. In order to survive and earn rewards, it is your skill, not your money which more often determines the outcome. This design is unusual in most existing metaverse offerings.
Game Mode
With the concept: Simplicity, Addiction, Fun and Personalization and to bring different experiences to players, Snake City presents 6 different game modes with distinct features:
- Training Mode
- Battle Arena
- Tournament
- Freezone
- Discovery Mode
- Sponsored Events
One of the priorities of Snake City is to promote personalization and enhanced cosmetic appeal for players. Various personalization options can be offered, including:
- Customizing the snake’s skin color,
- Holiday events collection,
- Different country maps such as Brazil, Spain or China etc.
Token Model
Snake City has deployed a Dual Token model — SNCT and TOC.
SNCT is the alpha token and can be attained through trading, staking or in-game reward. The primary utilities of the SNCT token include:
- The native governance token
- To buy Eggs and NFT Snakes in the marketplace;
- Distributed as rewards for players in the Arena Battle play mode;
- Distributed as rewards for token holders when staking;
- To govern the SnakeCity ecosystem.
SNCT has a maximum token supply fixed at 1,000,000,000 and cannot be changed. The mechanism of fixing the maximum supply will help to reduce the risk of future token inflation.
TOC is the in-game cryptocurrency that plays a role in the universe of SnakeCity. When players use active features such as breeding, TOC will be spent. It has a lower point of entry and is used to stimulate game play and entice new entrants. Independent of this, the primary utilities of the TOC token are:
- To buy more turns to play in the Arena Battle game mode;
- To buy tickets to play in the Tournament game mode;
- To buy in-game NFT items such as energy stone or skins (except Eggs and Snakes that are bought using SNCT);
- Distributed as rewards for players in the Training, Arena Battle & Tournament game modes;
- To use for breeding
SnakeCity applied a dual-token model in order to allow players entry to the game, undeterred by the primary token, SNCT’s, price. As SNCT is traded on exchanges and valued in fiat, it will reduce the influence of the secondary market of the in-game token.
To build a strong economy with a sustainable growth, a Deflationary Mechanism has been created:
- Minting control
- Token utility
- Burning mechanism
- Diverse revenue stream
While often not optimized, dual-token economies can provide opportunities to support varying in-game interactions such as infra-token conversions, token mixing for character progress or crafting, etc. SnakeCity is looking beyond generic GameFi and is squarely focused on creating a balanced economy that includes NFTs, dual tokens with a supporting deflationary mechanism.

Snail Trail AMA #2 — Technical Deep Dive with Shy & Orexr (Co-Founders)(Recap)
In this AMA, we will be joined by Snail Trail Co-Founders, Shy and Orexr. to cover the project at a high level. The focus of this AMA will be the business development, vision, road map, and post-IDO plans.
Dave| Avalaunch
Hello and welcome everyone to the sequel to our most epic AMA in recent memory and that of course was Snail Trail. Here to melt the ice now that it’s been broken comes a couple of new guests in @orexxr and @shyildiz, both co-founders of a game that is to intrigue, captivate and maybe even scintillate but enough of my yakking, let’s boogie. How are you doing?
Orexr| SnailTrail
Hi! Doing great, nice to be here. Thanks for having us. Hope everyone doing great as well. We are really excited to be here.
Shy| SnailTrail
Hello everyone 👋
Thanks for having us.
Dave| Avalaunch
Good to have you both, co-founder and co-founder. As is now pro forma let us begin with some perfunctory introductions. Can you briefly tell us about yourself, your background, education and your experience?
Orexr| SnailTrail
I’m orexr, one of the co-founder of Snail Trail. I also have a background in computer engineering and I was working in several different industries across Europe, including carsharing and ecommerce. I got into building games quite early in my career and worked on several game projects on the side. Besides that I am nerding out on computer graphics.
Shy| SnailTrail
I am shy, one of the co-founders of the Snail Trail game. I am a Computer Engineer with a background in cryptography and secure protocol designs.
Before Snail Trail, I was a software team leader at one of the biggest defense industry companies, designing and developing security products for the military and government agencies.
Dave| Avalaunch
Since this is a technical AMA, we’d love to hear more about your team and their experience.
Shy| SnailTrail
We graduated from the same class of the university and always had a dream to build a game company.
Over the years, we worked in different jobs and areas in the software industry but gaming was always a passion and a side hustle for us. We are very hardcore gamers ourselves and created a small community during our gaming adventure.
Once we decided to build the Snail Trail, we knew what we needed and immediately asked our trusted circle, close friends, people from the gaming community and four networks whether they would like to join this journey or not. This was back in October. Our team started to grow.
Right now we have 12 people in our team including us. 2 Founders (Also devs), 1 Design Lead, 1 Designer, 2 Frontend Engineers, 1 QA Engineer, 1 Marketing Lead, 1 Sound Engineer, 1 Software Engineer, 1 Community Manager, 1 Copywriter.
Dave| Avalaunch
How long has Snail Trail been in production for, were there any particular challenges you’d like to tell us about?
Orexr| SnailTrail
We started the project back in September and launched our first version of whitepaper, social accounts and website. During this first phase, it was just us, working on the ideation and the initial planning. Throughout the months, our team grew bigger and bigger and the project started to gain shape.
Most challenging part was us and some of our team catching covid at the Avalanche Barcelona Summit. It delayed our whole schedule for nearly a month. Glad that we have absolutely amazing partners who helped us to reschedule everything. Normally this IDO was planned 1 month ago, but here we are.
Dave| Avalaunch
Good to hear. I know we’ve been in talks since back then and indeed it has been a long time in the oven. There are 4 performance traits that make up the core of Snail Trail and you have delinated them remarkably well. Can you give us a high-level overview of these mechanics?
Shy| SnailTrail
Yes the 4 performance traits that make up the core of Snail Trail are Family, Class, Generation, and Adaptation.
A snail’s family is determined by its genetic makeup. Each snail has a genetic sequence of 20 genes and the most dominant gene in the sequence will determine the snail’s family.
The 5 snail families and their gene are as follows from rarest to most common: Atlantis (X), Agate (A), Milk (M), Helix (H), and Garden (G). These are the most important traits for a snail’s speed and can be targeted with breeding!
A snail’s class is also a contributor to its speed and racing performance. There are 7 classes: Genesis, Master, Expert, Apprentice, Initiate, Novice, and Special. Genesis and Special class snails are minted to specific players during specific time periods. We just sold out our Genesis mint a few days ago. The rest of the classes are available in-game through breeding as well as the Laboratory in the near future.
The generation of a snail represents how far down a snail is from the first ancestor on its family tree. It is the least important among the traits that contribute to a snail’s speed. Genesis snail’s can have a generation of 1–5.
There are 6 different mathematical formulas built into the mechanics that can determine a snail’s generation. When a snail is born, one of those formulas is randomly selected and each has a set probability of being selected. The least probable formula to be used in calculating the offspring’s generation is the most desirable. It gives the lowest possible (more superior) generation number between the two parents.
Finally, each snail adapts to their environment in a unique way. On average, a snail will perform better in racing conditions that align with their adaptation.
Snails are born with 1 adaptation but can adapt to up to a total of 3 environments in its lifetime. Each snail adaptation is completely random. In the near future, players will be able to use Adaptation Potions with the Microwave in the Laboratory in order to change its adaptation. Adaptation Potions are granted to active players at random and will have the ability to be sold on the Marketplace.
Dave| Avalaunch
I feel like you’ve been asked this before many times over. 😀 It is impressive. The level of thought and thoroughness has gone into it. Too many projects launch without this level of thought and maturity and users are left wanting (not to mention investors) so kudos for that. NFTs are becoming an integral component for many blockchain-enabled games. Snail Trail indeed includes this technical feature to enable users to customize their snails. Can you tell us how this integral customization contributes to Snail Trail’s core value?
Orexr| SnailTrail
We are very strong believers in decentralization and blockchain technology. It’s compelling seeing how gamefi has picked up steam and I’m excited to see it blossom even further in the near future. Owning your own in-game assets was never possible in the past with legacy gaming.
As we look forward and integrate these beliefs into modern blockchain games, it’s important to give the players the best experience. This not only includes gameplay, but experience with their assets as well.
We want to give players the ability to fully customize their snails because in reality it is their snail. They can name them and in the future will be able to visually customize some parts. It gives it a more personal feel and aligns with the values of decentralization & ownership.
Dave| Avalaunch
In a day and age where everyone seems to be lifting everyone else’s ideas and attempt to brand it, let’s remove some murk. There are several systems that would differentiate Snail Trail from its competitors. Can you describe how the Racing and Reproduction systems work and how their role fits within the play to earn structure?
Shy| SnailTrail
Currently we have two different types of races: Daily Missions and Competitive Races.
Daily missions are free to enter and all players are rewarded from the prize pool in relation to their race placement. These rewards are dynamic according to our slime token emissions schedule so players are limited to the number of Daily Missions they can join each day.
Players can join unlimited Competitive Races, however they require an entry fee using the slime token. Only the top 3 racers in these races are rewarded from the prize pool. How a snail performs is calculated based on various racing traits (as discussed before), coefficients and randomness. Players should experiment with their snails to find or breed the perfect ones for racing.
Superior traits make a snail better on average, however it does not make a snail strictly better than another one.
In Competitive Races, snails will have an ELO Ranking that defines their expected outcome in a race this way similar snails will compete against each other. ELO Ranking is adjusted after every race when the actual outcome is compared to the expected outcome.
With our Incubator mechanic, players can target specific traits by breeding new snails.
Snails are hermaphrodites meaning owners can choose the gender of their snails each breeding cycle
A female snail can reproduce once per breeding cycle. A male snail can donate his genes up to 3 times per breeding cycle. Male genes can be either sold on our Genes Marketplace for slime tokens or used directly by owners in the Incubator.
For example, a snail owner may breed twice with two of their female snails and sell the last use on the market. If a player owns a female snail they may choose to reproduce with their own male snail or purchase desired genes on the Genes Marketplace to breed with.
To produce a new offspring will require a $SLIME Incubator fee. This fee is dynamic according to the gene and protocol coefficient.
Superior genes will be more expensive.
The protocol coefficient is determined by the current game demand of the Incubator as well as the inflation of the snail supply. If demand is high, the coefficient will increase to incentivize slower inflation.
Dave| Avalaunch
I think @FireStorlvl speed typing record is still intact but you all move with a quickness. Good to see the daily missions are free for everyone and that there’s, generally, a lot of flexibility given the potential of combinations between traits and types. Were there any particular technical aspects that were challenging when building the various layers that make up Snail Trail as one of the most competitive racing games built on Avalanche?
Orexr| SnailTrail
Years of coding improves our speed of typing for sure! 😄
Creating a software product is always challenging in all of its aspects. Everything needs to be perfect to make a good impression on the stage because once you go live you really cannot return.
We always believed in releasing every bit of the project together and that’s why we worked so hard over the past 7–8 months. Last week, we started with our fair mint. 4901 unique addresses minted 7400 snail NFTs.
This week, we are heading into our SLIME IDO followed by Dexalot Discovery & Live Trading. Once the token is available to trade, we will be launching the game. This week will be a bit challenging but I hope with the support of our amazing community it will be another success.
Dave| Avalaunch
The success of the NFT sale was surprising to many but we saw it coming and Dexalot discovery is shaping up so well done for that and a hopeful harbinger of future success. Are there any interesting developments underway that have not yet been added to the current roadmap but will play a role in its future adoption?
Shy| SnailTrail
We had a lot of questions from people asking if we will offer renting options.
Renting will be a great alternative to owning Snails for people who want to explore the game. We have planned a system around it that we did not announce yet, and it will provide more features around renting.
There are new game modes on the roadmap that we will be introducing, but there will be even more coming on the table that will heat up the competition between the snails. 🐌
We are hoping to add more dynamics with these new modes and believe that players will have fun playing with the new modes
Dave| Avalaunch
When do we expect to see the full version of the game? How soon can we expect to interact with the mobile version, will this have the same features available as the Dapp?
Orexr| SnailTrail
Mobile support was planned to be added in the last quarter of this year.
however, considering the growth of mobile usage, we wanted to improve the experience for our players from the beginning on.
We think it is crucial to have mobile support so that more people can easily access the game from wherever they are.
Thus, the game will have mobile support from day 1!
Dave| Avalaunch
How did the team decide to build on Avalanche? What was your experience like being part of this ecosystem and contributing to its expansion?
Shy| SnailTrail
In the beginning of this journey, we were trying out games on Ethereum and suffered heavily from the gas prices which was frustrating at some point. In the meantime, we started to invest in Avalanche and really liked the experience and what it offers to the users with affordable gas prices and fast transactions. After some months developing the game, we have been reassured that we made a good decision. The Avalanche community is very supportive and we are grateful to be part of this ecosystem.
Dave| Avalaunch
final question from this section — What do you envision, Snail Trail to look like in 6-months to 1 year from now?
Orexr| SnailTrail
We designed the game and the economy for a long journey, 6 months to 1 year is relatively short term compared to our target.
But in that range, our aim is to be the most played game on Avalanche!
On the development side, at that time we will have our isometric(3d) racing view, laboratory, microwave and shop features completed with an extra game mode.
Twitter
@Ceyda_040 asks — What type of benefits does “Snail Trail” expect from investors and partners?
Shy| SnailTrail
Our investors and partners bring a lot of value to the table rather than just the money. They gave advice to us about the tokenomics and the general economy of the game, they connected us to great people in the ecosystem to build Snail Trail. We’re looking forward to continuing to work with them in building an amazing race experience and plan to build more awesome relationships along the way!
@CryptoKhangng2 — I know it comes up a lot but what mechanism does the team feel is the best to sustain long term game economics?
Orexr| SnailTrail
It comes up a lot indeed, but we are glad to answer it again 🙂
We have multiple mechanisms built into the game with the long term horizon in mind.
The ones that stand out are the dynamic Incubator fee and the dynamic rewards system.
As mentioned before, the Incubator fee changes based on current demand. If there is high demand to breed snails, the fee will increase to reduce inflation.
We also have future updates like the Laboratory that will combat inflation, but it will be mitigated right away.
The Daily Missions races have prize pools that adhere to the slime token’s emissions schedule. This economic design has been thoroughly thought out with a forward looking approach.
And of course, we will be constantly monitoring and optimizing the game as we receive real-time data points!
@cryptotrung — We can breed our Snails once a month in the #SnailTrail game. As a result, the number of snails will increase as players continue to perform these actions. Wouldn’t the value of Snail #NFTs be affected as a result of this?
Shy| SnailTrail
Of course, like any other economy if the supply outgrows the demand, materials tend to lose value.
However, there are several mechanics planned to keep the NFT inflation on a healthy level.
Firstly, we have a protocol coefficient which basically is a difficulty for the game’s breeding system. From day 1, it will limit the breeding at a growth ratio of 1.2 per month. This ratio can be adjusted over months with prior announcements to the player base.
Another mechanism is Laboratory, overtime there will be less favorable snails, which will be much cheaper than the rest. Players will be able to scoop these snails and burn them to create better snails in-return.
Ofc, this mechanic was planned to be released after a certain degree of snail population
Other than these we will have few game modes where burning will be provided as an option. ☠️
@BangRd5 who wants to know — How will “SnailTrail” keep production and demand in perfect balance for their market and asset values from plummeting?
Orexr| SnailTrail
Snail Trail is a game with a single Utility Token. We don not like the approach of creating more assets without fulfilling one’s potential.
Everything that will be built around Snail Trail will add value to SLIME.
Price action is something that the market decides, like any economy there will be good and bad days. However, in the long run we are targeting to create something unique and fun.
@26Akunpribadi — Unique project name, where did you get inspired by your project name, sir?
Shy| SnailTrail
Well, the name came up pretty quickly when we decided on Snails. When we found it, we pretty much loved it since it is also really easy to remember. 🐌
Telegram
Is your project a community only for English speaking an countries or for users not of other languages?
Orexr| SnailTrail
Right now our website is only in English however you can find the international channels in our Discord to discuss furthermore abour the project.
Since I can give an alpha, I picked this question because we have some localization coming up.
We will be supporting Japanese, Portuguese and Turkish when we fininalize the tests around it.
We are looking forward to support more languages in the future with the help of our community.
What is the Best way to follow All your Upcoming news and updates? What are your plans in coming Future?
Shy| SnailTrail
We use Twitter and Discord actively. Following Twitter and #announcements channel on Discord is more than enough.
subnet is now popular on avalanche. Will you consider to build Snail Trail subnet? 😁
Orexr| SnailTrail
Subnets are getting popular indeed. It is on our radar, however we are focusing on the game launch and other improvements that we can provide to our users.
We tried to design the game to be efficient however we will be monitoring the cost of it and take action if necessary.
👉👉During these days, be a Multi-chain platform is an obligation to be considered a competitive project, so can you explain who how many chains are you able to support?
Shy| SnailTrail
We developed Snail Trail as an Avalanche native game from scratch. We intend to keep it that way. But we have some plans to direct peoples attentions from other chains to our chain 😎
When snail trail will integrate and use chainlink vrf for better result on breeding?
Orexr| SnailTrail
While we were implementing our features, Chanlink VRF was not available and we had to tackle that challenge with our own solutions. We will be looking into it when they deploy the feature on mainnet for sure.
Dave| Avalaunch
Another successful survivor of not one but two AMAs with a raucous and demanding community. You have not only survived but dare I say you’ve thrived. The Snail Trail representatives that took on this challenge have been absolute rock stars and we appreciated having you.
Thank you for your time here today @orexxr and @shyildiz
